We are going back up to Disney 5/9 -5/13 before our 3 night Disney cruise. I am trying to decide where to stay. I haven't booked anything yet and was hoping to wait until the Fl resident or AP discounts came out. If this were our only vacation for the year I would definitely splurge for a deluxe concierge room...but considering we will be visiting and staying at WDW at least 5 more times this year, I would like to make sure we have $$$ for all those visits.....

that being said I am trying to decide where to stay. We stayed at Pop Century in Feb and I was looking at all the other value resorts and from what people say I gathered that the All Star Sports is very noisey/crowded. ( I think DH would love the icons there) and I am not sure what will be going on in May. I was now leaning towards the moderates as the $130 mark is about what I would like to spend.....I asked DH what he *valued* in a resort and he said "as long as I am with you" sweet but no help, so I am on my own. It will just be myself, him and our DD 15 months.

The resorts I keep looking at are Coronado Springs and AKL....I love the pool themes at CS and the whole idea of the savanna view intrigues me. Plus I think our favorite resort is the AK. I just can't decide....can someone else do that for me?

Anyway what are your thoughts on these two resorts?

Well, if I were going to be visiting 5 more times this year, that would mean I would be spending more time at the resort than the parks. In that case, I would definitely stay at the AKL. We loved our stay there the year we visited Easter week for 3 days and had no plans to go to the parks. We were able to truly appreciate the resort. When we are doing the parks, I prefer a resort which has closer proximity to the parks we plan to visit most.

As a side, I am soooo envious that you will be visiting WDW 5 more times this year! If I visited WDW 6 times a year, I would drive my coworkers crazy because it takes me weeks to get rid of my silly grin after a visit to WDW!

Having a season pass and living less than 2 hours away makes it quite easy to get away for quite a few 4 day weekend trips!

If cost is no object or you get a great rate, AKL is an awesome resort. If not, you can't go wrong with CSR.

IMHO why pay the high rate unless you are spending alot of time at the resort? We love the ambiance at CSR and we spend so little time in room we can't justify the extra $$$. That said... AKL is absolutely breath taking!!! If the price is right go there !!!

Bunch of help I am HUH!!! LOL Hope this helps!

If you are going to be spending a lot of time at the resort I would choose AKL. If you are going to be in the parks all day I would choose CSR. That's how DH and I decide on moderate or deluxe. We will be staying at AKL this spring break and have always wanted to stay at CSR because of the wonderful things we have heard about the food court and pool. I'm sure you'll have a great time at either place.

I have stayed at 3 of the resorts but on our last trip we went and visited just about every other resort out there. The YC/BW/BC area was incredible. Absolutely incredible and beautiful. Even while I was at WL all I could think about was the boardwalk area. You have restaurants and niteclubs. You can take a short relaxing beautiful walk to epcot around the canada area or take a boat ride there. since you are on your honeymoon I assume you will be doing a little fine dining and of course the world showcase is full of that and you would be very close. Do not forget beaches and cream for icecream but remember to PS it as they were very busy when we went there.

You guys are no help! :teeth:
I went on AAA and found CS for 122.40 a night....the standard room for AKL was over $230.....if I am going to shell out the money for AKL I definitely would like the savanna view and AAA rate was like $325 or something. I am seriously considering booking the CS and hoping the Fl resident rates come out.

I, of course, vote AKL!!!!::yes:: This is a beautiful and unique resort, with lots of activities and wonderful restaurants. Can't say enough good things about this resort!! The ambiance of this place is just incredible, and Jiko and Boma are not to be missed, IMO!!:teeth:

Sounds like you've made up your mind.....

Reserve a room at CSR at the AAA rate.....

Watch for the discounts.....

If you can get a big enough discount to stay at AKL for around the same rate as the AAA CSR rate....then, try to switch over.

We are going at the end of May. I have a reservation for 2 rooms at the AAA rate for Pop Century. If the discounts are deep enough, I hope to be able to upgrade to 2 rooms at a moderate for about the same as what I'm paying now for 2 rooms at PC ($84 per night per room).

I've never stayed at either the CSR or AKL....but, if they were both in the $130 range....I'd probably try AKL first.....

speedyf :)

speedyf - you will love pop! We were there last weekend with a rate no one could refuse!

Well I went ahead and booked Coronado Springs:bounce: I am so excited.....I got the king room for 135.15 a night. I requested the Cabanas section...not sure if I will get that though.

I am still crossing my fingers for an AP or FL resident rate to come out!!
