Hi all, I am planning my Feb '12 trip, we are actually going on the DCL for 7 night cruise this time, and will be getting off the boat on a Saturday. Since we will be in Florida anyway, I want to stay overnight in WDW after the cruise before we head back to the freezer (Niagara Falls, ON) on the Sunday instead.
I can't decide which resort to stay at for that 1 night, and I would like to get some suggestions from you guys, here are more details about this trip.
It will be our first trip as a family with our 7 y.o. DS. :yay:
We are not planning to go to the park.
We are going back in September '12 for a week long trip with MIL/FIL.
I want to try staying at a resort we have not tried before: Bay lake tower, Beach Club or Boardwalk.
Since it will be in Feb, it probably too cold to enjoy the pool.
So which one of the three resort mentioned above would work best for us?
Please help!

I would suggest BWV, since you aren't going into the parks, you can enjoy the various Boardwalk venues.

if you're not going to any parks, I'd pick BWV because of all the restaurants and nightlife. Then again, BLT would be nice because you could go to TOW and enjoy the firework display.

You'll get there early in the day since you'll disembark very early. BWV is an excellent choice since it has bikes, boats, and entertainment on the Boardwalk. Saratoga Springs is another option, with even more entertainment, shopping and food available in Downtown Disney, plus movies and La Nouba.

So you guys all agree on BWV huh? I like that idea too. But I also like what nlanboys pointed out, BLT we can watch the firework at night to cap the awesome trip. And give DS a "preview" of what we will do on the next trip.... or is it too much of a tease? (let him see Magic Kingdom but not going in)

BWV would be my vote too because of the activities. I personally don't think the fireworks outweigh all the things you can do around the BW. What will you do all day till the fireworks start?

We usually go to WDW at the end of Feb. and since we are from NH, we always go swimming. The pools are heated to 82. Last year the air temp was in the 80's too. Being from Canada, probably you and definitely your child will be able to enjoy the pool.

I would suggest one not on your list (unless you are board with it!) AKV. It has neat activities (like night vision animal viewing), animals, a great pool (we've been in February and found it very swimable at WDW) and great restaurants.

You are right MrShiny, AKV has some neat activities. :) That's why it one of our home resorts!!
I am sure we will stay there on a longer vacation and take the home advantage (value rooms). But for just one night, I want to try other resorts we haven't stayed at before. My goal is to try them all!!
