For us, we choose a character buffet on who we want to see. At Donald's, we ate there last year, food was good, nice variety, characters interaction was good. There was Donald, Goofy, Daisy and I think Mickey maybe it was Pluto. I can't seem to remember right now. If you get there early for breakfast, you can go right to the safari without much wait. That's what we did and it worked out great. The animals were up and walking around.
As for 1900 Park Fare, mornings I think still have Mary Poppins, Alice and Pooh and Tigger, Dinner is Cinderalla. Food and character interaction is good for either.
I think it still depends on what characters you want to see.
Hope this helps a bit.
