I'm trying to finalize my ADR list before my 180 day window opens up on Monday. We will be on the DDP for 8 nights. We definitely want to try CRT (we've been to Disney 4 times without trying it yet so it's about time!) so that will use 2 credits, leaving 6 credits.

This is my wishlist; a few would be repeats but most are ones we've never tried:

Bon Voyage breakfast/Trattoria al Forno
Ohana dinner
The Edison
La Hacienda de San Angel
1900 Park Fare dinner
Cape May dinner
Cape May breakfast
Enzo's Hideaway
Kona Cafe
House of Blues
Sci-Fi Dine In Theater

Are any of these must-dos or the opposite?

I would not do Cape May twice. We loved the breakfast but did not enjoy the dinner there. I have not heard many good things about Maria and Enzo’s but I always say decide for yourself because there are restaurants we love that get mixed reviews. We find the atmosphere at Sci Fi is great but with the cars if more than 2 people are in your group you can’t turn around and talk to them plus we find the food just ok. We love 50’s PTC so would recommend you do that instead. Not sure which meal you plan to have at Kona but we have only done breakfast and do not care for it although a lot of people love it.

I would pick one Cape May meal.
I'd ditch either the Edison or Enzo's.
I'd scrap House of Blues. Pick one at DS for a meal. If you want to do two, pick one for a meal and one for drinks and/or dessert.
Not a huge fan of la Hacienda, but that's me.

If I had to narrow it down, I’d keep Trattoria al Forno breakfast, Ohana dinner, Kona Cafe (especially for breakfast), one visit to Cape May, Sci Fi and The Edison. Possibly La Hacienda also depending on where you’ve eaten in Epcot before. The rest I think you can definitely scrap.

I don’t know anything about your situation like if you have a car or what your park plans are, but in my situation, I don’t bother with anything in Disney Springs.

It takes too much time and effort IMO to go to DS using Disney transportation. I prefer to dine where it’s convenient to the parks.

That is good to know about Sci Fi. It will be my husband and I plus our three kids (10, 9, and 5).

We would probably do Kona for dinner.

We are driving to FL so will have our vehicle. For previous visits we usually drive to the parks rather than waiting for overcrowded buses, so we would be able to drive from a park to dinner easily.

I like non-park late dinners so that our park days aren't determined by where we made a ressie 6 months prior. But then it gets exhausting to have too many late nights so I am shooting for a balance of some earlier dinners in-park and some late dinner outside. :)

I wouldn't do San Angel. 1900 PF and Cape May Breakfast are absolute must dos! I didn't like Kona Cafe AT ALL, so I would remove that, too.

I have to confess that I've only eaten at one TS in Epcot - Akershus. There are just so many great counter service options in the World Showcase that we usually opt for sampling those all day instead of doing a TS especially during the Food & Wine Festival (which will be going on again during our upcoming visit). '

Now I'm debating Biergarten over La Hacienda...

A great TS in Epcot is Rose and Crown. We eat there every time we go :)

Why so many character meals? Do you have kids? My comments are for two adults ...

The only two restaurants I would return to would be the Kona Cafe and Cape May Dinner.

I wasn't that excited with Ohana dinner, 1900 Park Fare dinner, Cape May breakfast, House of Blues or the Sci-Fi Dine In Theater. Sci-Fi is fun if you've never been but the food is just "meh".

I've not been to the Bon Voyage breakfast/Trattoria al Forno, La Hacienda de San Angel, The Edison or Enzo's Hideaway. I'm interested in trying The Edison.

Ones that you missed: I love Spice Road Table in Epcot, Yak and Yeti in AK, Tusker House in AK and Boma at AKL.

Rose and Crown and Spice Road Table are my two favorite non character sit down meals at Epcot, with Spice Road Table being my favorite. Best meal I've ever had on Disney property was there.

Yes - they will be 10, 9, and 5 when we go. Last year we did 6 character meals with them; this year it will probably end up being only 2 or 3. We're focusing more on what we want this time rather than what they would want. :p

We absolutely love Tusker House but have gone 3 out of our 4 previous trips (and did Boma on the trip that we didn't do TH) so I was thinking of venturing outside that old standby. But not sure...might end up adding it in yet because it is sooooo good!

I'd drop Kona for dinner. It used to be a must do for us but has consistently gone down hill since they changed the menu. Service has also been on the down slide in our experience of late.

With kids, I might add back in Sci Fi (it's fun) and 'Ohana dinner for the same reason.

Are you holding out for free dining? Will your 10 year old eat adult food or would they prefer kids food? I'm asking because with 3 "Disney Adults" and only a few buffets/character meals you may save money paying out of pocket instead of spending $275 per day on the DDP. Here's a calculator that will help you decide if it's worth it: https://www.distripplanner.com/

I have free dining already from booking the bounceback when we were there last September. :cheer2:

My 10 y/o son tends to be less adventurous and eat less than my 9 y/o daughter so I am thinking maybe they can switch plates at places where he would rather eat off the kids menu and she would rather eat an adult entree. Without free dining then yes, it would definitely be wasteful to buy him the adult DDP. :rotfl:

I would do Bon Voyage breakfast, ’Ohana dinner, 1900 Park Fare dinner and Sci-Fi. I haven’t been there but Enzo’s Hideaway has gotten pretty consistent bad reviews, Mario and Enzo’s has gotten better reviews.
