MGM or Universal Studios? Have a 14,12,and 2 year old. Was wondering if you preferred MGM to Universal. This will also help us determine whether or not we should get a 4 day or 5 day hopper (4 day if US, 5 day if not) Thanks for the help. A Mom!

I'm going to say MGM but thats just because I'm extremely bias when it comes to WDW and Universal. I wouldnt plan on spending a whole day in MGM but go there in the morning then head off to another park. Get the five day hopper...it's almost impossible to see and do everything you want to do in 4 days.....5 will give you a little more time.

Well, IOA and US are two different places. If your kids like thrill rides, then you'd want to go to IOA. But US doesn't have the same Disney hospitality. If if was out of US or MGM, definetly MGM.

When we went to US, the people who worked there didn't tell you where to go; it was like you were expected to know where you're going even if you don't. On Back to the Future (which were great movies :D ) The US employee just told us to walk down the hall to get to the briefing room, but there were like 3 open doors, and we didn't know where to go! Then when we were getting into the car, the people were still getting out of it, and we didn't know when to get in. I don't know how I managed this, but I ended up going through the window or something to get into the car. When I was already in, that's when the doors went up  (I always seem to make things harder than they really are :D )
Then, on the Hanna- Barbera ride, You just walk in and get on a line. The doors into the theatre were open, but I didn't know if I was supposed to go or not, and then the person working there is like Go!! And I was just like, what is your problem.
Most of the employees (I don't want to call the 'cast members') didn't say hi, how are you, like in WDW, but one guy was empting the trash and said hi to us.

So, if it's between MGM and US, go with MGM. If it's between IOA and MGM and your kids like thrill rides, go with IOA. If they don't go to MGM.
I like thrill rides, but no one in my family would go on them with me. :D

Hope that helped :)

Islands of Adventure. Sorry Disney fans, but having been to MGM, Islands of Adventure is just loaded in comparison.

She asked about Universal Studios not IOA. You do realize that they are 2 totally seperate parks with seperate admission.......dont you?(Highliht, just so ya know I was just pointing that out to you. I know it sounds kinda like I'm yelling at you but I was just making a point :))

And Kiki's got it exactly right.......the people, service etc at Universal is nothing compared to what you'll get at a Disney park. I've been to both US and IOA......and I'm still all for Disney.

I would say MGM...one main reason
if you u arent renting a car there is really no other way to get there!! and that would be extra money and you would have to do IOA and USF...Im not saying that USF is bad or anything..just I prefer MGM!
and where else can u find MGM?? its my favorite park so I couldnt miss it!

I was HOPING a majority of you would prefer MGM. I'll let my kids read your posts so they don't think I'm doing this for myself!!We have never been to the world and can't wait! celebrating my 13 and 1 yr old b days. Talk about a great party! Thanks again! Cheeringmom!!:earsgirl:
