I hate when they come out with a good package AFTER I've bought my park passes. Here is my dilemma, and any advice would be appreciated:

Taking my niece, her BF and 3 kids (4, 6, & 8) to WDW (It was their Christmas present). I wanted to stay on-site at ASSports or Movies. Thought it would be more fun for the kids. My niece says it doesn't really matter to them as the kids are so excited looking forward to going to the parks. I also thought on-site would be easier for niece and BF to have transportation to PI a couple nights during our stay (7days).

I bought 7 day PHP from Paramount already. Now it seems people are not expecting room only codes for the fall (we're going in Sept.) We would have needed 2 rooms at the AS and the cost would have been approx. $1300 w/tax.

I was looking at the $39/night at Courtyard by Marriott (2 nights at AAA rate). This comes to about $900 for the 7 nights for 2 rooms. So I think I'm going to book that. But for what the room and tix cost me, i could have taken advantage of the FT package if I knew about it sooner. CBM had transportation to PI so that factored into my decision.
BUT... I was also thinking of using the FT package and just holding on to the tickets I already purchased from Paramount for a later trip. (although I don't really want $1600 worth of tickets doing nothing for the next 6 months (don't plan on returning until March or April of '04).
Do you think staying on-site will really make that much of a difference for the kids. We'll be right near DD and won't be in the rooms much anyway. We'll also be going to Seaworld one day and possibly Universal - so the UPH could have 2 days wasted plus our arrival and departure day wouldn't really be used either. So that's possibly 4 days not used. There I think I convinced myself. Am I doing the right thing?!
Somebody else convince me ...PLEASE!!

Terri,

Is the Marriott cancelable? If so I would book it and if something afforable is offered on site, than you can cancel. If it is not a reservation that can be canceled or changed, I think I would hold off. JMHO, but I think that this fairytale package, may prompt some really good offsite deals as well. And I wouldn't rule out any onsite Fall discounts. Of course this just my 02 cents.
