Help me order at GFtea!

I have made ADRs for the GF tea and I'm so excited!! I do have a few questions about ordering though. In the reviews I have read it seems as though everyone has ordered a specific tea service (Grand tea, Buckingham, etc). That was my original thought, but I've also been considering just ordering a la carte. I don't really like mayo, so I'm not sure about the tea sandwiches. Any fellow mayo haters have an opinion about this? The scones look delish, but I don't like pie crust so I don't know about the tarts. Does anyone ever just order a la carte? Sheesh, reading this I sound like a majorly picky eater, but honestly I'm not! Just trying to get the best bang for my buck! I also was thinking about ordering a small cake (as a bday gift to my sister) and don't want to be too full! I'd love to hear all your experiences!

First of all you can see what a lot of the items are. Also ask your server; adjustments can be made. For example, I cannot eat raw cucumbers so if I order the tea sandwhichs I am allowed to substitute.

You can order anyway you want - we usually order one of the "teas" to split and side items ala carte that look tasty, or things we want more of.

Don't worry about the mayo - the sandwiches can be changed if they have it even on there.

They have most of the stuff on display, esp the pastries, so you can choose what you want. I also scope out what is on other table's when I'm waiting to order =)

Just explain your dietary needs to your server. As with all WDW restaurants they are superb about working with specific dietary needs.

I am predictable and always order the Buckingham Palace. I don't like cukes either. So pass on the cuke and watercress sandwich. (Which others say is very delish.) I substitute my cuke sandwich for an extra chicken salad.
Their chicken salad is not what you think of for typical chicken salad.

Also these tea sandwiches are not your typical American slathered with mayo sandwich. It's very thin sliced bread with a very thin layer of filling.

I have made some tea sandwiches (not their recipes) and often mayo or cream cheese is used as a spread as it keeps the bread from getting soggy. I don't know if they do this at the Garden View Tea or not though,
