I want at least one place with very good food and one place that's a total blast! You guys have been helpful so far but apparently my brain is full up and I'm stalling out right before my 180 day mark!!! HELLPP!
How would YOU narrow it down? We'll be going to the 4 big parks and don't mind eating at the resorts so that's not an issue. We'll have Grandma (60 and doesn't mind trying new things), me (40 and will choke down anything as long as everybody's happy), DH (42 and eats out all the time, has to be really good to impress him), and DD's 8 & 9 (ok as long as there's some typical kid fare on the menu, will taste other peoples food as long as it doesn't touch their plates.)

My list includes: Crystal Palace...Chef Mickey's...1900 Park Fare...Marakesh...Liberty Tree Tavern...and Whispering Canyon Cafe

What would you keep and why? I'm planning on 3, but could do a 4th if I can't narrow it down. Bring it on, opinionated people!!

We have done three of your choices--Crystal Palace (a MUST DO for us every trip for breakfast because of the puffed french toast and Winnie the Pooh), Chef Mickey's (always a fun time for kids) and Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch (we really enjoyed the lunch here). We are doing Whispering Canyon Cafe for the first time this year. We have not tried Marekesh--I am very fussy! And my DH has not wanted to go to 1900 Park Fare--not a big fan of the GF and would rather not even step foot in it. I would do Crystal Palace for sure and 1900 Park Fare because of your DD's. Why not ask DH what he would like to do for 3rd one?

My choices would depend on which meals you would be going for.

CP/CM/1900 would be my choices for breakfast - not big on buffets for lunch or dinner

WCC and LTT would be good for lunch or dinner

You didn't list which meals you will be eating at each of these but I will give you my list.....

:thumbsup2 Crystal Palace is a must for every time for me, love the food and the characters. We have had all three meals there and they were all very good. :)

:thumbsup2 1900 Park Fare is another favorite of mine for breakfast and dinner. Another one with cool characters and yummy food.

We have had breakfast at Chef Mickey's and thought it was pretty good. The best part was being there with the monorail running through and the cute costumes the characters wear there. We haven't had dinner there so I don't know about the food.

We have never dined at Marakesh or Whispering Canyon so no opionion there. We did have dinner at the Liberty Tree and we thought the food was just ok. So if I had to pick I would probably leave out Liberty Tree but that just my opionion. :)

Good Luck with whatever you pick and have a great trip. :goodvibes

We've done both CP and CM for breakfast and the one I would recommend is Chef Mickey's - I thought the food was better and the character interaction was unbeaten (despite Eeyore being my fave character). We thought the character interaction at CP was just okay, and the food just okay.

WCC is a must do for dinner - it's a hoot! That was our first night's dinner last trip and we're carrying on the tradition this year. Really feels like everyone's having fun and you're in Disney.

We're trying LTT for dinner this year, so hopefully that will be good!

food @ 1900 park faire is very good especially for a buffet, character interaction is great. liberty tree is a favorite of ours for dinner & also chef mickey,s. Whispering canyon was a real fun place to eat @ lunch but very noisy. Hope you have a great time wherever you go. :cool1: :dance3:

Unfortunately, DH has no opinions whatsoever about Disney. In fact, he is perfecting the stare-at-me-until-I-go-away technique for when I try to force him to listen to plans. He's happy to go, and is an incredible planner if your vacation is based on something like, say, competitive bass fishing or hunting the elusive atelope-bear-monsterdeer thingy in Saskawumpatopsi Canada. For Disney, he's just going to show up and do what I tell him to. He's not real exciting, but he's mine!!

That was too funny. Mine is the complete opposited. I've changed to ADR's and we don't go until September. But like you said, "he's mine!" And I guess since we are celebrating our 25th, I'm going to keep him.

We got to LTT every trip. It is a favorite of ours for dinner. The food has always been great for us & the characters are wonderful!

We have done Crystal Palace for breakfast & thought it was good. The characters were great here too.

We did WCC for dinner & had a great experience there too. It's a really fun atmosphere & we enjoyed looking around Wilderness Lodge while we were there! Good Luck! :)

I think you will be happy with any of these. BUT my family is never happy with Crystal Palace. We never enjoy our meals. I would only do 1 character meal too. I hear Chef Mickey's is the choice to go with!

Our favorite for every trip is Crystal Palace. Hubby loved it, I now have to book it every time!

I've eaten at them all....some multiple times. We always eat at Chef Mickey's on each trip....it's a fun atmosphere, the food is okay, characters are fun. Crystal Palace is another must do for my dd, now 14. We love the Pooh characters and the food is good. 1900 Park Fare is good and has better than average buffet offerings, or at least they did the last time I was there. Marakesh I really enjoyed. Dd wasn't so crazy about it but she is incredibly picky and eats next to nothing, but dh and I enjoyed it. WCC....this one is mystifying to me. I've eaten here about 4 times, 3 times for lunch, once for dinner. I enjoyed lunch so much more. And even at that, the last time I ate lunch there it was just okay..nothing to write home about. But that could have been our server. She just seemed to not care about much. Liberty Tree Tavern I like very much. I love the atmosphere there and the food, while not great, is fine.
Have you considered Boma at AKL? We love it there. Even my picky dd likes it there. There is some stuff that's 'out there' but they have plenty of what my dd calls 'normal food'. Just a thought.

My favorite meal was at Coral Reef. The food was delicious and the aquarium was really cool. My DH's favorite restaurant was California Grill. We were there during Wishes and the view was fantastic. If you can swing the price, I would go there if I were you. DH and DS ate at Chef Mickey's and enjoyed it. We all ate at 1900 Park Fare and loved it. The Mad Hatter was the best! He was the most entertaining character. The kids didn't know who he was until then! LTT was ok. We are going there for dinner in September. CP was great. The food was good but the service was just ok. WCC was good...we were there for lunch and it was delicious (but there was too much food). They didn't do any of the zany antics they are known for. There was only one waitress who was loud and she was quite annoying.

Hope this helps!

I'd keep Crystal Palace because I think it is very pretty, has great food and is a lot of fun. They have, IMO, the best breakfast on property, too.

I'd keep Restaurant Marrakesh because it is my favorite meal in Epcot...and everyone enjoys a belly dancer - you don't see that every day.

And I'd keep Whispering Canyon since you're looking for something that is a blast. I hesitate to recommend it because the food has been dry a lot lately and over the last couple years it is kind of hit-or-miss on the "It's a blast" stuff, but you have a shot.

I love the others, too. 1900 Park Fare has excellent food (especially dinner) and I'm a huge fan of LTT (even with the dry food.) But you made me pick three!

We love crystal palace. Also, have done 1900 for breakfast and the character interaction was super, but with your dd's would probably do dinner. I've heard the interaction is good for dinner also. WCC can be fun, but depends a lot on your server, food was ok, nothing special. Chef Mickeys was a lot of fun also, food at dinner ok. I also think you should consider Boma. We love the food.
