UGH!!! Why is this so hard???!!!

We didn't think it would be that hard either, but DS6 (Alexander Barrett) and DS4 (Lucas Alan) didn't get their names until hours before we took them home from the hospital.....

You may totally change your mind once he is born! DSIL had a name picked out before delivery, and when the nurses saw DN, they said, "oh, she looks like a Gina.." Gina is her name...:)

That's what I was thinking as well. We have always had several possibilities picked out and then waited until the baby was born and we could hold him/her in our arms to make the final choice.

Did you have Sebastian picked out and know for sure that would be his name before he was born?

Looks like the poll has stayed pretty much 50/50

Whatever you choose will be great!

Yes we did have Sebastian's name picked out before. We had so much trouble picking a boy name, so we didn't really have any other choices. I think I will probably have to wait until we see him. I was just hoping to have one now......

I like the middle name Cole :D. So I'd pick that as a first name. As I see a lot of people are doing.

However, since it's not a choice I'm going for Quinn.

** Now I'm editing. I didn't realize that people were starting to use Quinn for girls. Actually I think it would make a really cute girl's name. The signifigance is that if he's the only male Quinn amongst even a handful of girl Quinn's kid's can be cruel. I'd shy away.

I personally don't like common names. I have a common name and about 15 other people in may grade had it too!! When I named my son I wanted something that wouldn't be super common, not so weird nobody ever heard of it, and nothing too outdated. I ended up w/ a Travis. Out of his entire school he is the only one.

I wonder how many people have no idea what you're talking about? My mom used to LOVE that book!

Actually, Quinn is a boy's name, even according to the SSA. I believe in the Irish, Celtic and Greek languages it's a boys name. In Gaelic, it's a girls name. There are some girls named Quinn, but it's not as popular than for boys. I do know of one other girl named Quinn. I've never met her though, she goes to my 'Y'. I think it's another one of those cases where people are "stealing" boys names for their girls to be "trendy".

I know two Quinns from DD's pre school and they are both girls. My oldest DD, 21, also has a friend named Quinn and she is a girl also. I like Alexander as it is definitely more boyish but I think Xander is awful. Xander sounds like a dandruff shampoo! LOL!

I voted for Quinn :) I agree with previous posters that Quinn Carpenter sounds great!

I think Alexander Carpenter is too much of a mouthful and I don't really care for the "Zander" nickname.

However, I LOVE the name Cole, so I'd go with Quinn Cole Carpenter....

because with Quinn Alexander his initials would be:
QAC (quack?!? ) ;)

I like Alexander Cole

This is a tough one, but, I chose Alexander Cole. Good luck to you.:sunny:
