If it came down to it, what would you choose?

Starting college at the time I promised my mom I would or annual passes to WDW?

I know it sounds like an easy choice, but god I love WDW so much!

i say college. definently. PLUS: a promise is a promise, and should not be broken unless its for something EXTREMELY important.

Hmm. I would probably choose College.
But that is if I was 18.
If I were 16,I would choose the Annual passes and just take online courses and start College when I was 17, that way I could be with kids my own age.

If college is important to you, do that first. The sooner you start the sooner you can start life! If you start now you could be out by the time you're 20 or 21!!!

ETA: I thought about this and I just wanted to warn you that if you do start college now, you are going to be the youngest person around and you won't know many people you're own age. I know that my maturity at age 16 is a lot different than it is now at 19, BUT you seem to be VERY mature for your age from what I have read here. Good luck in your decision!

Also if I start now, then in two years I could get a clerical job at my mom's office (which is where I ultimately want to end up). Then continue night classes to get my entire 4 year degree. See where it goes from there.

BUT, If we chose the annual passes I could get to see mickey more. :cloud9:

My smart, logical side of the brain is saying college. My emotional part of the brain is screaming Disney.

I think I'll go with college, just to be responsible. But I just want to get some feedback of what other teens would do if they were in my situation. It could be an interesting discussion.

If your mother is agreeing on the Annual Pass thing, you could consider that.

If you're just thinking of this on your own... I wouldn't consider the AP.
I'd say do college, but I guess, if you wanted to, you could take a year off (or is it possible to start in the spring semester?). If you took a year off though, would you still be younger than you would have been if you hadn't been homeschooled?

maybe you should make a poll? but i think everyone, or at least most everyone, is going to be saying COLLEGE.

I think this is a situation where you have to think with your head more than your heart. If I thought with my emotions all the time I would definitely not be in college right now, haha.

If I didn't start until next spring, I'd be 17. 17 in March.

Oh, these will be online classes because I have a trip in September. Should I have mentioned that? We WILL be going on the September trip, but the question is whether to buy annual passes or not.

Also, airline prices. They are crazyyyyyyyyy. Who knows what they'll be like in December or May. Again, logical side speaking.

Since it's online, I would do college.

If you go to college, you'll get the job you want, and make money. The money that doesn't go towards bills, life, etc., goes to a Disney fund, in which you'll be able to spend time with the mouse.

I think it's so odd that airline prices are crazy over there.
I know people here who go to the States to get cheaper flights =/
My family never does, because they don't like leaving their car at the airport, and we can buy tickets with points.
Sorry, a little OT.

Oh, maybe I wasn't clear. I will be going to college, no doubt about that. The question is more like 'when should I start?'.

Would it be better to start now, or in a year. There are pros and cons to both situations.

::yes::

That's what I was thinking.
I'd go with college.

ETA: Oh, for the time, I personally would start now. Just what I'd do though, I think it just depends on what you'd like to do.

I'd go with college first. I would wand to get it over and done with so I could start the rest of my life faster. With the annual pass, how many times do you think you would use them? Do you have friends that are planning on college next year? If so, you might feel out of the loop and lonely that you can't join in on conversations about college. It might help to make a chart of pros and cons to see which reasons hold the most weight. Good luck with whatever you choose!:goodvibes

I know college is the logical decision, but you just graduated at 16! This can be reason to celebrate. Taking a year off from school won't really cause much harm, since obviously you're very intelligent. And if you really want to, and your mom is okay with it, I don't think the annual pass could be too bad of a pick over a year/semester of college.

Oh haha. Sorry. My mind's been clouded up, trying to complete a bio lab report.

But, in choosing when to start college, what are you looking for?

Do you want to get done with everything early and jump into the work force for the rest of your life?

Would you rather take a small break before getting into anything serious?

Do you think you're too young to dive in to the college world, even if its online?

Is your family planning on going to Disney annually for a few more years?

I say the APs.

Simply because I was strugling with this situation too. I choose to take just one college class (verses two or three) each semester (along with my highschool courses) because college is not at all like highschool.

When you walk into college, at sixteen and a highschool graduate, you're automatically going to be looked odwn on by people 18-30 in that class. You're going to have to work 100xs harder than you did in highschool just to be viewed as an equal.

take a year off. you deserve it.

Woah, Shelby! I expected you to give me a good slap in the head and tell me to get my butt to college.

But thank you so much, I love hearing everyones different opinions. They help a lot.

That 'you deserve it' made me smile so much. :)
