My husband and I are headed to Disney with our 9 year old daughter in August. She is still young enough to appreciate the little surprises. Help me think up some Disney style magic that I can do for her on our trip. We will be staying at the All Star Movies resort.

Have a great time...and try not to get hung up on making it special...it is pretty special just being there!

Hope your trip is a big success!!!

What about the personalized menu and/or diver at Coral Reef (if you are eating there)?

Ordering a cake 'just because' at any of the restaurants?

Some surprises we've done for our daughter:

Present her with a Cinderella dress & invitation to breakfast at the castle.

Same as above, but do it with an Alice dress & invite to tea.

leave a small gift each morning or night. Ours pretty much includes things she can actually use: Disney toothbrush, p.j's, panties, Pez dispenser, autograph book, etc.

Mostly, just take time to have fun & enjoy your time together as a family. Don't try to do so much that you end up too tired to have fun.

Thanks for the ideas-keep them coming!!

You know that I'm too excited to sleep Disney commercial-well that's me and we are still 3 months away from our trip, so I thought planning little surprises might help pass the time and relieve some boundless energy LOL! Funny thing-I actually like to be pretty spontaneous and except for ADRs and one Segway tour for my husband I won't really plan my days in the parks, so these little surprises are where I put my planning energies.

I have ordered Disney luggage and Disney pins and Disney shoe charms and Disney shirts and Disney swimsuits and I AM COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL-but my husband still loves me-so all is good!

We are going in June and I also wanted to have a few surprises for my ds 10 and dd 9. I plan to go up to our room before they do (have DH take them to arcade) and put together a Welcome Goodie box. I am going to put the items in my carry-on so we don't have to wait for our luggage. I got collapsible gift type boxes from a paper store. It will have a small plush of their favorite character, these twirly light things I got at the Disney store on clearance, a few Disney themed candy items and candy bars with wrappers that are personalized for them and also a personalized letter welcoming them to WDW. I was going to order something to be delivered from Disney florist but figured I could make both of theirs myself for what it would cost me to have the florist just do one.

I also am going to leave personalized dinner invitations for each of them on their pillow for each ADR that we have. With DH's help I will have to do a little sneaking around to accomplish this one. :-)

I got all of the personalized things from the Creative DISign board here. One other thing I got from the DISign board is character wrappers for Hershey Nuggets that have a little card that coincides with the character that says something about having a great day and is signed by the character. I plan to put these on the vanity each night after they go to sleep.

Hope you and your family have a great time!!

We pack a Disney surprise for each morning in our suitcases. Each morning when our DS wakes up there is a small surprise from Mickey. It makes him feel very special.

The last time we went our DS was 7 and some of the surprises he got were a Disney watch, one of those night light up and spin toys, a Disney character t-shirt, Disney toothbrush, small Disney character stuffed animal, Disney yo-yo, Disney hair brush. You can find a lot of Disney items at stores near your home. It saves us money to buy the little gifts before we go.

on the creative disign board someone has made these cute little character wrappers for Hershey Nuggetts and they also made little notes from different characters. I made some and left each morning, the day we did MK I had Dumbo and a note from him, another day Donald left a note that said " Hope your day doesn't quack you up!" with his. So cute and a big hit! Look for a thread on the Disign board that says something about nuggetts.

At the top of this forum is a Fairy Godmother thread. Here's how it works: You get someone to agree to send a postcard to your daughter a few weeks before you go, from Cinderella or Belle or whoever is her favorite. Then, just before you go, you agree to do the same for someone else's child.

Here's the thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=842646

suprise her with a trip to the BBB. i just went myself (no really just for me) last week and i had a blast.

Take one day and celebrate her birthday while there. Go to guest services and get a birthday button and tell them its her birthday at your dinner reservation. It doesn't matter if its really her birthday, one year we celebrated my niece's birthday and I only told them for one of our ADR's but the CM marked it for all of them
