I cannot decide between POFQ and CBR. Currently booked at CBR but having second thoughts. Our pros and cons are:
POFQ- Small, only one bus stop, new splash pad, boat to Disney Springs, elevator which would be great with a toddler and stroller
CBR-love the theming, zero entry pool, recently renovated, actual door between bathroom and room.

Cons:
POFQ-hasn't been renovated in last 5 years, idk about the theme, shares buses with POR sometimes which would make for lots of stops
CBR-huge, lots of stops, lots of walking if you don't book preferred, bus transportation only

So help me decide what to pick!

POFR, love this resort. Has a great new splash pad for kids, and a great mostly covered play ground. Even when not staying there, we Often stop by for lunch and to let our kids play on the playground.

I am in the minority, but I am not a huge POFQ fan. So, I would choose CBR. We loved CBR! However, I would also choose to book a preferred room at CBR. We really like the pool/play area at CBR for small children. WE also like to stay in a newly refurbished resort (CBR). the tropical island theming is wonderful at CBR. The Mardi gras theme at POFQ leaves me cold and the giant heads looking down from the food court ceiling are just creepy, IMO.

POFQ does have the nice boat to DS, but we rarely go to DS, so it's not a selling point for us. We also prefer the dining at CBR - we like ahving a TS option at the resort. Beignets at POFQ are good, but I don't base my resort choice on a bit of sugar sprinkled fried dough.

I would choose CBR, preferred. The theme does matter. It is beautiful!

We've stayed at both and love both for different reasons. I get such a romantic vibe from POFQ and it seems calming for the kids and I, plus we love the food! CBR is sooo fun and lively, which you need that kind of atmosphere because the place is HUGE! LOL! We compare it to CSR as far as all the walking you do, but we also just chalk it up to being in WDW!

I haven't stayed at POFQ, but I'm not a fan of CBR. If I ever stay moderate again I plan to try POFQ.

My deciding factor would probably be price... since POFQ is often excluded from discounts, I would probably go CBR (and try to do preferred)

Another one for CBR. There is something about POFQ that just sort of creeps me out, it might be the just big decorations they have. I have not stayed there, stayed at POR and walked over to PoFQ every morning and did stop by and look around. As far as the bus situation, a bus is a bus is a bus. You are going to have good and bad experiences no matter where you stay. We were at CBR in the Jamaica section, I requested a first floor room since my son has a back problem and stairs are not easy. Got one no problem. The walk to the pool and main building was no more than 5 min. if that. It is not as big a resort as one would think, it is really only a mile around the entire lake so there really is no point that you are going to walk longer than 1/2 mile to get to the food court. There are bus stops at each village so depending on which village you are staying at, you might not be riding the bus all the way around the resort. Jamaica happened to be the first stop going to Epcot so we did ride all the way around, it only took 10 min. The next morning, going to MK the first stop was the building with the food court/gift shops, we ate breakfast there and hopped on the bus and again rode it all the way around, again no longer than 10 min.

Thanks for the input FWIW we are getting them for a $39 price difference for the week depending on which one we get. We are willing to spend $30 more for POFQ if it would be better for our family

But have the discounts for that week come out yet?

POFQ! We have stayed at both and POFQ wins hands down. We had horrible luck with the buses at CBR and did not care for the food court. Buses are always good for us at POFQ, we like the boat to DS and also being able to use the pool at POR. The food court is also better at POFQ imho.

We used the buses for a week at POFQ, and only one time was it shared with POR, a very early bus to AK. (and yes, it was very annoying having to make all of those stops, it put us behind schedule for getting to EMH when we wanted to). Love POFQ, have never stayed at CBR so cant compare but we would go out of our way to stay at POFQ again!

I would echo this response as well. Spent a week at CBR in late Sept. of 2013 & had horrible bus service. Tried POFQ this past December and LOVED it.

What about CSR? DH brought it up and it looks okay

I haven't tried it yet but did visit it and walk around. I will be trying it on my next trip, which will be either June or Sept. It has multiple bus stops as well if that bothers you, again it looks huge but I got off the bus on the furthest bus stop and walked to the front of the resort, walking slow and taking my time and going the longest way I could figure to go around the lake. It took me about 7 min. to walk. I've heard it has good bus service though but as I've said, the buses are the buses are the buses and you are going to get hit and miss service no matter where you stay. The day I was there, around mid-afternoon it was very quiet and peaceful. It was during F&W last year, late September.

Since the price difference is so small, I'd go POFQ. The only mod I've stayed at is CBR, and we really liked it (even in the far off pirate rooms), but POFQ is smaller and has the boat to Disney Springs.

CSR seems spread out like CBR and less Disney, more convention.

We have stayed at POFQ and CSR. We thought the bus service at CSR was the best we have used. We love POFQ and it would be our choice between the two. We are staying at POR just because I want to try a new resort. It was hard to not go back to POFQ.
