OK, here's my dilemma (although I posted similar within another thread). My hubbys birthday is today and I have no idea what to get him. Our 20th anniversary is in July. I would like to give him the rookie experince at Richard Pettys for a present but it's $370.
I have on layaway for our anniversary a new diamond wedding band that is $350. Now my dilemma is this. Should I give him the driving experience (something he has always wanted) for a combination birthday and annivesary present, or stick with the ring that would be nice, but he wouldn't be able to wear it all that often because of work. I guess to me, the band is sweet and romantic, but a part of me thinks the racing experience would be more memorable to him.
What should I do????

oh yeah...we will be in Disney during our anniversary.

thanks!!

OK, made the decision! I went ahead and booked it! It is scheduled for July 9th (Anniversary date) at 8:00am. I do think he will love this much more than a ring that will sit around. Guess I just needed a little bit of coaxing! Thanks!!
P.S. I booked me for the ride along experience that same day. Guess I better pack the depends!!! LOL

I think you already know what to do. I hope he has fun with the racing experience. :)

LOL yes, I'm sure he will!!!!

I think he will like the racing experience.

We all chipped in and got my dad one of those fighter-pilot-for-a-day experiences for his birthday. He loved it. He said hands down it was the best present he had ever received.

So, another vote for the Richard Petty Experience, especially since he can't even wear the ring that often. Why spend $350 on something that's going to sit in a box most of the time?

I am thinking like the others, I think he would love the racing experience especially if he couldn't wear the ring the majority of the time. I have to add that about 11 years ago, I won my DH a trip to the Buck Baker Racing School for a long weekend and he still talks about it like it was yesterday.

I hope he enjoys the experience:D . You'll have to report back and let us know;) .

My DH hasn't had his wedding band off of his finger since we got married 12 years ago. He would never want another band.

But I'm glad you posted this because its making me think the driving experience would be a blast for my DH in September. I think he will love it!

WooHoo!! I think that was a wise chose. He'll love it!! :teeth:
Hang on tight!!

My DW told me about your dilema. You chose well. I won the Buck Baker 3 day racing school at Rockingham ( where Im proud to say Im on record as the slowest race car driver to ever circle that track, just kiddin ).
He will always remember that experience and gain a tremendous amount of respect for the guys who do it for a living. You will get a good experience as well in the ride along deal. Savor every moment of it. Take a camcorder so you can capture it all.

Yall have fun!!
Jimmy

Just a little advise--to get there you have to get to the Ticket and Transportation center, and I think you can only get there from the monorail, so make sure you leave early enough to get there for 8am.

Have a great time!!!
