Ugh! My mom and I are taking DS to WDW for his 6th birthday next week. We've been keeping it a secret since November. As his birthday gets closer he keeps asking if we are going to have a party...We're not doing a party this year and I can't come up with a reason to give him. I don't want to upset him, but I also don't want to tell him we're going yet...We leave on 2/24 and his birthday is on 2/25. Our plan is to just wake him up on the 24th as if we're going to school and then drive to the airport. SO should I just tell him, or try to last another week?? I also need to pack which is proving to be VERY difficult without him seeing the suitcases. I work full time, so I can't do it while he's at school or anything....

I'm bad at keeping secrets Jaimee. Looking forward to seeing you guys again for our Illuminations cruise! We're going to have a great time!::yes::

Waahhhh, I want to go too. :) Hope all you guys have a super time!!!! What a nice evening that will be, a boatload of nice people. Enjoy!!!!! :bounce: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

No ideas on the secret part, Jamiee, but know Isaiah will be thrilled.

The next time he asks you if you're going to have a party, tell him to wait and see. If he asks who is going to be there, tell him it's going to be some REALLY special friends. He should be able to hold out with that information :)

Is there anyone who could take your DS out for a couple of hours one evening so you could pack the suitcases and then put them back up so he wouldn't be suspicious? I agree with Stepharoonie about the birthday response, tell him it's a surprise!

If your mom is going you could tell him that he's going to spend his birthday with Grandma, thus the suitcase being packed. (Maybe he'll think he's spending the night with her) You could do like another poster said and tell him that you're going to invite some more friends to spend his birthday with him.

Anyway you cut it, it's a great birthday gift for your son. :)

Tell him you're taking him on a surprise road trip to a nice hotel so you can eat out and swim in a neat pool. ;) That will explain not having a party and having to pack.

That's what I was going to say! What a great thing to do for your DS. What a wonderful mom you are!!!
Have a blast. Only 2 weeks to go :D :D

I know how you can pack without him seeing the suitcases...
Todd and I will watch him - you know we're glad to do it and we won't spill the beans!
