Help me help my sister please! AKV question

I have been to Disney many times but have never stayed at AKV. My sister, her fiance, and his two kids are planning to stay in a savannah view studio. Should they chose Jambo or Kidani? Kidani is slightly larger, correct? Does it make much of a difference? But Jambo has better access to the main offerings of the resort? The kids are really excited to view the animals from the balcony...is one better than the other for that?

So which should she chose? Trying to help my sis out and make her trip magical

We loved the views from Kidani. You will not be disappointed! Ask for a room near the lobby.

We own two contracts at AKV. Jambo has the CS. Kidani has the BEST pool for kids (you can visit from Jambo). However, Kidani is the first to get on all park buses and the first to get off!!!! This makes it GREAT! Kidani's 1 br has 2 bathrooms vs 1 at Jambo. Kidani's 2 br has 3 bathrooms vs 2 at Jambo. This is just another reason we LOVE Kidani!

If the kids are younger than 8--Jambo...older than 8--Kidani. The only reason I will stay at Jambo is if I want a value room or take children with us, otherwise it will always be Kidani.

We had the same problem with this decision - we decided that Jambo was the way to go for our family, which is staying in a studio.

I stayed at Jambo House two weeks ago (Lodge not DVC). My opinion is that for animal viewing, lower floors is better than higher floors. That rules out Jambo House for DVC since those rooms are up higher.

Lower rooms allow you to look under the tree canopy to animals farther away. Also I thought the Kidani Savanna was nicer than the Jambo House savanna. I saw more animals from the public Kidani viewing areas than from my balcony at Jambo House (4th floor, Arusha Savanna). Anyway, the animals move, so who knows where they will be hanging out when you are there, but I thought Kidani was better for animals.

Our girls were 3 and 5 when we went in Dec and we choose Jambo. We figured if the weather was really bad and we decided to stay in for part of or all of the day we had everything under 1 roof. We did have such a day and the girls did ceramics at the Kids Center, cookie decorating at Boma and we had access to a CS resturant. Because it was Dec the pool was not as much a factor for us and we could go to Kidani if we really wanted to.

As PP stated, if it was a 1 bedroom instead of a studio, hands down Kidani.

If you are staying in a studio, I don't think there is a HUGE difference, but if you want the amenities of Jambo, then that is probably best for you. Bear in mind that the Kidani pool is GREAT for kids!

At AKL we always request a room on the Arusha Savannah on the Zebra Trail side of the lodge. It has wonderful views and you have the best bet being close to the Mara (quick serve restaurant). IMO, you can not go wrong at AKL!
