Help me get rid of Squirrels

Seems we have small squirrels or chipmunks digging under our front cement stairs/porch and in the back under the cement pad in front of the back door. What magic potion can I use to rid my exterior of these pesky diggers?
Yes, they are cute but I just cant handle them digging where I dont want them

If it is squirrels, and to me it doesn't sound like a squirrel, use red fox urine. You can buy disks at the lawn and garden store that are impregnated with the scent. It is the most feared enemy of a squirrel. Put the disk in the area, the squirrel flees.

odds are you have chipmunks, squirrels do not dig through cement, but chipmunks do.
Best way to rid yourself is the good ol' fashioned mousetrap. Use a couple of (raw not salted) sunflower seeds as bait. Instead of jusst placing the seeds, glue them down with a dab of Elmer's, otherwise they won't set off the trap.
After a few days of 'hunting' seal up the porch steps.

Yep I have seen the little guys, and I guess they did look like Chip and Dale a bit so Chimpmunks it is!

Green Tea- do you know if Chimpmunks are shy of the red fox urine too?

shrubber- thanks for the tip and clarification on the type of visitor- I will keep the traps in mind if I cant find something to scare them away, but will have the clear that idea with the wife first as she may freak out a bit if she sees them in there!

Ilivetogo- Too bad your not in Ohio...If so you could have brought the dog on over for a picnic!

If you use a mouse trap, I would use peanut butter.

I don't know if chipmunks are afraid of red fox urine, but it smells pretty bad, so my guess would be "worth a try!" Red Fox urine would make me want to leave my hole.

You might have to look in a gardener's specialty catalogue if you strike out at Lowe's. It is harmless to the critters past terrifying them, so a good first step.

Success! Amazon.com says chipmunks are also afraid of red fox urine. So Squirrels, Chipmunks and Green Tea would all flee.

I bought plastic disks impregnated with the scent. Worked like a charm. You can buy pellets, or a spray bottle of it. The little critters will smell it. But I doubt many human house guests will be digging at the bushes around her doors after a rain. If your dog pees in your yard, other dogs will smell it, but it isn't something you would have to clean up.
