Help Me Get Excited Again About This Trip Please!!!!

ASMu is the first disney resort we ever stayed at. It was the best trip we ever had. We loved the resort, we had a lovely courtyard view that was very quiet. Every night they had people going around and "touch up painting". Everything was so fresh and new outside and the pool area was nice. We LOVED the walk from our room through the trees and rose garden. We'd stay here again if our family weren't too large. BTW, we HATED Pop. TOO crowded and the busses were awful. Keep the dining plan and go with ASMu. The larger than life drum set is really fun too. :goodvibes

Look at it this way - the next time you go to WDW - try for a different resort then! It gives you a good reason to go back!

Also, be careful about setting your expectations too high on any one thing... some parents envision a magical moment when their son or daughter first sees Mickey Mouse.... only to have their little one scream in fear.

Its kind of like a parent who buys their kid a really expensive present then the kid just wants to play with the cardboard box it came in.

If something doesn't go exactly as planned just roll with it... you will be in a much better mood to enjoy your trip and appreciate the good things about your trip if you aren't caught up in the less-than-perfect thing that happened 4 hours ago!

RELAX.... take the "magic" as it comes... don't overemphasize any one aspect... some of the best moments of your trip will come where you don't expect them!

YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A FABULOUS TIME!

Go and enjoy. As adults you have the ability to form opinions and judgements about the relative merits of various resorts. A two year old does not have that ability. Your child is not likely to remember much if anything about this trip years from now, but will be absorbed and delighted by all the new sights, sounds, and activities at which ever resort you choose. It is the experience of having fun as a family and being surrounded by love that will make the greatest inpression on your little one, and you can do that at any of the Disney resorts.

Well written and entirely accurate. You have great insight!

I believe today is the last day for the free dining, so if you want that you must make up your mind.

We've stayed at ASMo twice, and it was lovely. However we've stayed at ASMu many times, and I really do prefer it to ASMo. As was posted, ASMo is right beside ASMu. You can easily walk across the parking lot to the other, and enjoy the pools, food courts, and the decor of all the AS resorts. So, IMHO, go, enjoy, take your pictures, and save your money with the free dining. Most of your memories will likely be made in the parks anyway. No matter where you stay, you will have a great time in Disney.

Disneygirl - Read the "Family of 5" thread, especially the post by Minnie61650. That post made me want to try ASMu next time!!!

You will have a fabulous time. Second guessing my resort drives me nuts, too, but I need to remember that there is no one "best" restaurant, resort, etc. and they all have something to offer. :flower:

Don't worry about it you'll still have a great time. I wanted to stay at ASMo on a past trip but had to stay at ASSp. It didn't ruin our trip. We just took a walk over to Movies and looked around and had lunch there. You and your DS will still have a MAGICAL time. As for canceling the free dining to stay at POP that wouldn't make much sense seeing you switched to a value to save $600 and you would spend that in food! Have a magicla trip.

disneygirl1977k, I just did the Stay, Play and Dine link to try and get the deal for my extended family in POP as well. It would not let me, and sent me info on staying at ASP instead. When I changed the dates to stay longer, however, it let me stay in POP after all. If you are flexible on your return, you might be able to add a day or two and stay in POP after all. Try playing around with it under the Stay, Play and Dine window. That will tell you if there are still rooms available for those dates under the free meal plan and you won't waste long distance trying the options. I hope this works for you! Midnight is coming up fast-- we'll turn into non-dining plan pumpkins again because the sale will be over!

If someone else posted this info already, please forgive me. I am in a rush and wanted to give you this info as quickly as I could. I remember reading your post a while back and when I had the same prob, I had to write fast!

HTH!
