Hello!
So I was expecting to stay at Beach Club but now I'm staying at Boardwalk - still super exciting but I was kinda all prepped for BC...

So what will I love at Boardwalk?! Does anyone actually prefer it to Beach Club? I have 9 nights in a preferred studio in December. :)

Thanks! x

I have never stayed at BC so I can't compare the two, however, we just spent 9 nights at BWV last month and had a fabulous time. The pool was great! We loved how we could walk to EP and HS. I know BC is closer to EP, but BWV is closer to HS. The staff was super friendly. My kids loved going to the bakery to get muffins in the morning. We had a great view of the HS fireworks from our balcony. The only negative thing I could say is the walk to your room could be very long. We were lucky enough to have a room three doors down from the elevator so getting anywhere was a breeze for us. However, the hallways are long so those at the end would have a very long walk. I've heard that BC have long hallways too. I hope your stay there is as wonderful as ours was.

We have stayed in both. I prefer the BCV but would also return to the BWV. The walk to DHS is easier from BWV but the walk to Epcot is a bit closer from the BCV. There is nice entertainment on the Boardwalk in the early evening.

I was recently asked about my favorite Disney World resort and my immediate response was the Boardwalk. I have also stayed at the Beach Club. I will not go into reasons why I didn't particularly care for the Beach Club because that's not what this thread is about. My favorites about the Boardwalk is easy access to either Epcot or the Studios. Walk to one and walk or boat to the other (we walk going, boat back). You can also go through Epcot to get to Magic Kingdom via monorail for a slower kind of day. My daughter-in-law would absolutely hate the clown pool (yes, she has that fear of clowns) but other than that, everything else is fine. There's plenty to do around the area, you can walk over for miniature golf, the pizza window is great for a meal (I advise to go down and order the full blown pizza and take it back to your room for a nice way to relax after a day), there's lots to just ease into after a full day. Of the Epcot Resorts, Boardwalk would be #1, Yacht Club #2, Beach Club #3.

I've stayed in BWV (studio) and YC/BC resort rooms. YC is my favorite of all Disney resorts and of the 4 Epcot resorts - YC, BC, Swan/Dolphin, BW, BW is my least favorite but I don't hesitate to stay there is the price is less or I just can't find anything in the others. As a matter of fact, I'll be at BW in March. It's a pretty resort, has long REDRUM hallways but you can't beat the proximity to Epcot and HS. You do have the advantage of always getting a full balcony as opposed to those silly little one's at BC. Don't worry, you'll enjoy it, it's Disney after all and it's all good.

Nice resort! Great location with everything the Boardwalk has to offer and easy access to Epcot/Studios. What's not to like? :earsboy:

We stayed at BW last year and have been to YC and BC previously. We like all three. The BW is fun because of the entertainment at night (except last summer it rained so much in the evening some of the entertainment was moved inside - which was interesting). The pool is great - even with the scary clown. I can't say one is better than the other as we just want the closeness to Epcot and HS. BW is also close to the Hess gas station and we walked there to get milk, water and some snacks. We are staying at YC this year as it was a bit cheaper than the BW but we wouldn't hesitate to stay at BW again. And we love the BW bakery.

I've stayed at both and they are pretty equal in my book. The pool is cooler at BC, but BWI has evening entertainment and easier access to more dining options. Both are great resorts.

Yes, we prefer it to BC! It's funny. I'm in a different boat - wanted BWI/BWV for our upcoming weekend trip but only BC is available!

We used to stay at BC almost exclusively for EP resort area stays, but a few years ago, I could get a much better rate at BWI, so we tried it. We LOVE it! It is so much more lively, at night, than BC and I love the turn-of-the-century Atlantic City Boardwalk theming. Tons of food choices and we even like the clown pool. We also prefer to walk to DHS and not take the boat, so BWI/BWV gets us a little closer.

BWI is our preferred Epcot resorts location. Too many kids at BC and YC is a farther walk to WS.

DW and I have stayed many times at the Boardwalk, mostly on the Inn side but once we splurged on a 1BR on the Villa side. We love the theming and the feel of the Boardwalk. We were happy with the "quick" food options at the Boardwalk Bakery, Ice Cream store, and the General Store. We also have enjoyed a couple of lunches at the Big River Grille.

We like getting an ice cream and sitting on the Boardwalk and watching the world go by.

I predict you will love the Boardwalk!

Does anyone actually prefer it to Beach Club?

Yes. It's my favourite resort (BC is number 2). I like the quieter atmosphere of the BWI over the BC. The pool at BC/YC is nicer but we rarely spend much time in the pool. At BW, if we go into the pool we usually go into the quiet pool in the rose garden which is beautiful, generally deserted and is definitely quiet.

BC is the worst resort I ever stayed at and the only resort I will never return to. We stayed BWV last year, loved it, we were upgraded to a one bedroom, super cool. We loved the closeness to Epcot, and a short boat ride to HS. We loved the boardwalk. The pool was okay, even that very scary clown was okay, just don't fixate on it. Close to some good resturaunts across the lake, Cape May, captions grille, and close to many on the boardwalk. We stayed in 5 villas last year, In ranking we have it WL, Poly, BW, AKL and BLT. BW may be our second choice, it was so close but because they upgraded us, we find it hard to know what the studio was like so we need to go again. But for us WL was and is going to stay number 1. But we will go back to BW, we wanted to this time but no studios available. Let me tell you the pool at BC is way over rated, it is crowded beyond any other, with kids even babies who don't seem to have parents anywhere. You can not get a chair ever. Kids with no parents dump buckets of water on you, hey I'm at a beach don't mind getting wet, but with no chair after 2 hours and finally dry enough to walk thru the lobby to room, three times I had a bucket of water dumped on me. Also the hotel is the dirtiest resort on property, I mean filthy.

BW is my favorite resort (after GF, but I put that in it's own category). I've stayed at BC, and would pick BW over it if I had to pick between the 2. Our walk was much further in BC than at BW, and both times we were the 2nd to last room in the hallway... IMO the hallways at BC are much longer. I love the feel of BW, all the little nooks in the hotel, and prefer the QS options on the BW to the QS at BC. Both are great for location & proximity to resorts. We didn't use the clown pool, but loved the quiet pool.

While BC is our favorite, the Boardwalk has provided us with many, many wonderful memories. In fact, for our upcoming wedding, we are hoping to nod very gently to Boardwalk style in our plans for the reception. It is lively, clean, has many dining options, spectacular views (even the cheap ones), and a great pool.

Also, BC will be a very short walk for you, and you can enjoy any of the food/dining/shopping amenities there if you'd like.
I hope you have a great time!

BCV is my home resort for DVC so it's obviously my favorite but BW is a close second. I love the theming in this resort from the lobby & common areas inside to the grounds which I think are just stunning. It's a close walk to Epcot & even to HS. The pool is one of my favorites, I think the clown slide is so much fun (I don't like fully enclosed slides). The parking has always been convenient for me & I can sometimes even get very close to where my room is located.
My one negative is that I wish there was a food court. The little tiny place out on the Boardwalk just isn't big enough for a resort that size plus you get folks from BC & neighboring resorts that eat there too.

I've stayed in a standard room at BC and at BWI (haven't stayed at BW villas though, so YMMV). The rooms at BWI have much better and stronger theming, IMHO. As others have pointed out, BWI is quieter and there aren't as many noisy kids running around. It's also nice that BWI is close to Jellyrolls. Unless using Stormalong Bay is a big deal to you, I actually prefer BWI overall. Down side of BWI is no restaurant within the building - just a bar with snacks and continental breakfast. But there are lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Can't say I thought the Boardwalk was anything special as a hotel but I LOVED the location. To be able to walk or take a boat to two parks was awesome and we loved the bakery as well. I've never stayed at Beach Club though we did get the kitchen sink for our family at Beaches & Cream and had a blast.
