Help Me Get Excited About AsMu!

We have stayed at ASMo, Pop, and ASMu...and ASMu was our favorite! The rooms have been refurbished and the resort had a less hectic feel to it. We found it much quieter and more relaxing than the other two resorts. We loved the theming in ASMo, but the rooms are pretty tired and desparately need redone. At Pop, the rooms were new and the theming was great, but the buses were always crowded, the lines were always long, and it was a long haul from the parking lot to our room (lugging all our stuff upon check in was awful). But at ASMu, we never shared a bus, never waited for a bus due to a bus being full, the lines were definitely shorter, and we really enjoyed walking around the resort in the evening. It just seemed quieter and less hectic...and I agree that the movies by the pool every night was great! It would be our choice for a Value resort every time! :goodvibes

Wow, it`s like I wrote this... it is our favourite of the values that we`ve stayed at! We would go back to the suites as DH has grown to like the larger rooms at the moderates. We`ve stayed is Jazz - not a preferred but as close to the main building as you can get without being in a preferred. Also it`s between the 2 pools! Awesome!

We had a party of 5 stay in the Family Suite in the Jazz building (room 9436). I loved it! It was pretty quiet and not a bad walk to the main building and bus stop. The lobby, food court, gift shop, and arcade are located in the main building right next to the bus stop.

In our experience, the bus system was terrific. Both days we walked to the bus stop, there was either a bus waiting, or just pulling in.

What I liked about the suite were the 2 bathrooms. It definitely saved time and helped in the morning when I wanted to make it to DHS before rope drop! :) Also I really liked the curtains that separated the sink/bathroom area from the common areas. It was nice not to disturb the sleeping members with a bright light when I got up at 6:00 AM one morning.

Most of the pictures I have are ones that can be found on Disney-related websites, but here are a few:

This is near the bathroom (the one directly to the right of the kitchenette). On the left is the curtain I mentioned, and on the right are the cutely-themed Disney hooks.

And here is a picture of the kitchenette on the 1st night. Food not included. ;) They do provide cups, paper towels, plates, and silverware (all disposable).

ASMu is our favorite value resort and we have tried them all. I feel like they try harder than the other values - the employees are awesome. We love the pools, the lush landscaping, and the food court.

We'll be staying in a Family Suite (for the first time) in November - with 4 teenagers and free dining. I cannot wait! :goodvibes

We love All Star Music, it and Pop are our favorite values and we have stayed at all of them. I literally just downgraded from CBR to ASMU today for our trip that is in five days (woke up to $3000 worth of damage in a flooded basement today) and I am actually pretty excited. I had my choice of all four values and was set to book Pop but at the last minute realized I was in a Music mood!

What I love about Music:

I think it has the prettiest grounds and nicest landscaping around the pools of any value. Love Pop, but its quiet pools are just out in the blazing sun, whereas the Music quiet pool has some nice trees around it and feels a bit more secluded.

Love the movies and games by the pools. Especially the movies.

I think the busses at the All Stars are fine. Never had a problem and they do not always share, not even close.

Enjoy having the other two All Stars right there so we have more pools to choose from.

I enjoy all the values, but have to say Music has a lot to offer.

ASMu is the only value we've stayed at, but we chose it because of the reviews on these boards. We loved the remodeled rooms and had great mousekeeping during our stay.

The busses were great. That said, we will never stay at a value again from May through October. The uncovered bus stops were too hot! Not worth the savings to me...if I wasn't staying DVC I'd choose a moderate (POFQ for its size) over a value any day.

as a PP stated, you can use the amenities at all the All star resorts when staying at one. and music is in the middle.

once, while stayng in the Mighty ducks section at Movies, it was quicker for us to cut across the parking lot to the Music bus stop and food court and bar. (the food courts are pretty much the same, though)

but music does have the dj at the calypso pool in the afternoon, and movies at night.

the surfs up pool at sports is really big and pretty! since you have never been to any of the all stars, maybe you could "tour" them.. pool hop!

I stayed at AsMu last year (this year I'm staying at Movies). I enjoyed it and had no problems at all with the buses. It was a bit of a walk from where my room is to where the food court is, but someone who lives in CT and is visiting in December, walking outside in that beautiful weather is a joy.

We just stayed at the ASMu the first weekend in October for a girls weekend. The room was spotless. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes for the buses. We were in the Broadway section which was very quiet. I did the online check-in and our room was ready at 10:30 am. They had a lot of kids activities near the pool everyday. All of the CM's were very polite.

I have stayed at the Poly, BC and POFQ--I would not hesitate to stay at ASMu again. Have fun! :thumbsup2

Staying here next week, and you guys are getting me super excited about it! Can't wait to see it in person!
