We are flying in to Disney on January 26th. Our plane is due in at 5:50 and we are planning to spend the evening in Downtown Disney so we can start the parks first thing on Sunday morning. here is a run down of where we are eating this trip and I would love a suggestion of where to eat on Saturday night. We have the DDP.
Saturday - Fly In Need somewhere for dinner
Sunday: Disney Studios --Lunch Flatbread Grill Dinner: Sci-Fi dinner
Monday: Epcot -- Lunch Sunshine Seasons Dinner - Coral Reef
Tuesday: Magic Kingdom -- Lunch ?? Dinner - Ohanna
Wednesday Magic Kingdom --Lunch ?? Dinner - Raglan Road
Thurs: Epcot -- Lunch Tangerine Grill Dinner - Biergarten
Friday: AK -- Lunch; Yak and Yeti counter service Dinner - Boma
Saturday -- Home :sad2:
So if I am counting this correctly we have 7 cs, 7 snacks and 7 ts meals. I need one more ts for Saturday.

thanks

DH and I highly recommend House Of Blues and we often do that as our first meal of our trip. LOL

Have a great trip!

DD: Upstairs at Wolfgangs, definately avoid Bongos
MK: Liberty Tavern
MK: Tony's Town Square

(It's hard to find a good lunch in MK, but these are my top two picks.)

I would move Raglan road to Saturday as you will already be downtown and then do something else Wednesday.. maybe Chef Mickeys or 1900 Park fare as you have no character meals and they are close to MK

I ended up with the extra TS meal because we were going to do Tony's, I had an ADR, but when I called to change the time, they told me that it was closed during our stay. Too bad too DD really wanted to do that one. Will House of Blues let minors in? Never been to one, really want to, DD is 17, or is that just for concerts?

If you are staying at a resort, I would recommend resort dining.

Boma at AKL has something for everyone
Whispering Canyon Cafe -- a fun place

Whispering Canyon Cafe for Dinner
Casey's for lunch at the MK. I know it's boring, but Casey's is tradition with me. I eat there (Hot dog and fries) EVERY trip to the MK.

You're ahead of me!! We're going to be there earlier that week... 26th is our last day there & we just booked our dining pkg this evening. Haven't even looked at the dining options yet and haven't been there since they started doing those. I've got a lot of work ahead of me!!

Where are you staying? Maybe we'll run into each other.

We will be there the same days, but our plans look completely different! I have 3 kids (8,5, and 3) along with a not so adventuresome hubby, and MIL is coming along for crowd control--1 adultper child) so we made what I would consider to be more "safe" choices, as well as lots of character meals...

Are you traveling with kids, or a car? Are you wanting "fun places" for the atmosphere, or are you just looking for good food and a quiet atmosphere?

Here is what we have so far...subject to constant second thoughts!

Jan 26 -- Probably food court at the resort, and then early to bed!

Jan 27th -- LTT dinner
Jan 28th -- B'fast: H&V, Lunch: Sci-Fi DI
Jan 29th -- B'fast: Tusker House, Dinner: Planet Hollywood (DTD)
Jan 30th -- B'fast: Princess (Norway), Lunch -- Coral Reef
Jan 31st -- Afternoon res. for Garden View Lounge (Tea) for the girls
Feb. 1st -- Lunch: Garden Grill

oops...just realized I have one too many...now comes the tough decision!

House of Blues will definitely admit your DD17. However I don't believe that either the HOB or Upstairs at Puck participate in the DDP. YOu would be paying OOP for these, and not solving your dilemna.
Where are you staying? Resort dining is a fun choice as well. If you ate at a restaurant at one of the Deluxe hotels it would give you a chance to tour the grounds etc. Since your flight arrives at 5:30 it will probably be close to 7 before you reach your resort. By the time you are checked in and settled it is getting late. I don't think I would travel to DTD at that point as we are usually tired after a long day of travel. Also we like to get to bed at a reasonable hour to be ready to start fresh the next day (and we are all adults)
We enjoyed Kona Cafe at the Poly very much. And the Poly is a beautiful resort with beautiful grounds. You could even time your ADR so that you were finished in time to watch Wishes from the Poly beach (deoending on what time Wishes was on that day, it might not work out for you). That would be an exciting first night.

Off Topic:
TexasTodds, Looking at your ADR's I have a thought for you. I think a TS/Buffet breakfast followed by a TS lunch is way too much food too close together. We would NEVER do that. I would suggest you do only 1 TS meal each day. If you have your heart set on 2, please make one for breakfast and the other for dinner. Also remember TS meals are time consuming and you are cutting way into your park tourning opportunity.
Good Luck

With your plane due in so late in the day, I would not make an ADR for that night. For a less stressful arrival night, I would eat CS at Wolfgang Puck Express on Saturday and add TS breakfast at Crystal Palace on one of your two MK days.

That was going to be my suggestion too. I never make an ADR for my arrival day. I've been on planes that arrive in MCO several hours after their schedule. I always plan on CS for arrival day, and a big breakfast on departure day (since airplanes don't feed you either).

we are planning to spend the evening in Downtown Disney.

Are you going to have a car? I know they aren't "Disney", but there are some restaurants very close to DTD, out on 535 (some in the Crossroads shopping center and others on road to the outlets - can't remember the name of that road....Bahama Breeze for one. Is also an Outback near the outlets).

If you are driving and find yourself near International Drive and Wet & Wild there is a Mongolian Grill called China Jade.........yummy!!!

We often do the same thing you are doing, arrive later in the day. Since we usually stay off property that night and check into our disney hotel in the morning ( I hate paying all that money just for a place to sleep!!) we usually grab Wendy's on the way to the hotel. But, my family loved the Earl of Sandwich on our last trip. I don't know their hours but the sandwiches were really good, and maybe not as heavy as a big meal later in the evening.

good luck,

deb
