Hello
All. We have just built a pool home in Emerald Island Resort. We would love to know what people want? What would make our home a home you would want to never leave. A home where your children are content and so are you. We need your help!!! Let us know how we can make your stay enjoyable. We have six bedrooms so we need to fill them all. I allready filled the pool area with pool toys. A whole luggage full. What else would you like to have fun. Think hard my guests stay will depend on it!!! LOL
Thank you all
IslaB

For me, when we are looking for a villa to stay in we are looking for COMFY (ie not cheap and soggy) King size beds at least. The bigger the bed the better in the master suite. We will not stay anywhere that doesnt have a 6ft bed.

Something we are planning for our future too..
plasma tv

1 - a pool slide , heating and tropical plants / hot tub
2 - Florida theming in rooms large plasma tv
3 - good management - if anything goes wrong - a good contact to get it fixed asap....

;)

Disney kids rooms were what drew us to book our last villa. The kids loved it,winnie the pooh duvet covers but you could go the whole hogg.

Just thought I would add my 2 cents!
We rented a townhouse in Regal Palms, this Jan. What I would have liked to have had was more untensils in the kitchen along with a fully stocked kitchen. ie: coffe filters, dish soap, dish towels, large spoons, potato masher, etc. It should be a home away from home. I like the Disney Theme rooms, large beds, tv's in every room. Make sure all appliances work.
I think it's great you bought a place. I wish we could afford too!

Good management company - definitely
Lots of LARGE towels (inc pool ones) were a definite plus at our last villa
something to dry your washing on ....

... will be back if I think of anything else :)

Hi IslaB,

We have owned on Sunset Lakes (just down the road from you) for 3 years and have found the main thing guests go for is something to keep the children occupied. We have a themed childrens room with videos, books, toys and a Playstation 2 & VCR, all our guests love it and appreciate the peace it gives them while the kids are busy playing. Other home comforts should include a DVD Player with DVD' and a CD player for entertainment plus plenty of linen, towels, utensils etc.

Another idea would be to add a PC with internet access as many guests are requesting it now. This is on our shopping list for our trip next week.

Walmart should have most things you need, and at good prices too.

Good luck with your new home, it's hard work to cover the costs but very rewarding too.

Hi we have been travelling to the same villa for our last three trips and the reason being all those little extras that we feel make it that extra bit special.

The villa we use is a 3 bedroom ex with pool and jacuzzi

Elizabeth the owner is may I say first a real pleasure to speak with so from your very first port of call you feel at ease.
The villa has all the mod cons etc that they all seem to have
Always a good selection of pool toys and beach toys which you can take with you on day trips out.
Beach towels yep you heard me right beach towels to use around pool etc.

A huge selection of dvd's , a multitude of board games,colouring books, pens,etc.

Books, golfing set if you want a round of golf ( crazy golf is about our limit)
Bikes if you want to go for a ride,
High chair, cot, childs buggy.

Cool bags if you want to take a picnic to the beach,
Lots of those waterproof macs that you can buy in the parks, well saves a few pennies ;)
The list is endless, washing machine, tumble, dishwasher always left with powders etc to start you off, iron, and ironing board, Plenty of Information regarding local places to eat etc, nearest doctor, chemist, management company, you name it

Im going on a bit now aren't I anyway those are the things that really make our holiday we just feel that were home from home oh yes and the fact that Elizabeth always gives us a call into our holidays to make sure everything is ok.
Best of luck with your new place and would love some information on it

Towels, sheets, blankets, plants, pictures, mirrors, hair dryer, utensils, plates, pots and pans, electric tea kettle, coffee, grill, baby stroller (as you call it buggy), a port-a-crib.

A great place to find things in Orlando is a store called Old Time Pottery. They are all over and have very nice home items - utensils, towels, sheets, lamps, etc at reasonable prices.

Kids love games, dvd movies, list of shopping areas, and dining establishments, etc.

Here is their website: http://www.oldtimepottery.com

For us it's a games room.I am only looking at villas with one at the moment :flower:

It would need a pool table etc.
In our last villa it was a very pleasant surprise to have bikes in the garage which were for guests use, nice touch

Emerald Island is lovely, well done with your villa :cheer2:

A very 'girly' answer I know but ......A hair dryer! Sadly missing from our last rental place. Had to go and buy one from the supermarket. Not expensive - but an unexpected inconvenience.

We are staying in a villa that is privately owned this time around when we go in May as opposed to a travel company. The things that we would've liked before were pool toys the wackier the better! we took our own and left them as they were too heavy to pack and we had so many bargains anyway there wasn't any room! Also a small welcome pack of teabags (preferably british) instant coffee, milk, pack of biscuits etc nothing that will work out too expensive for the owner but just enough so that you can get a cuppa on arrival especially for those guests who maybe arrive late in the evening. Any info on shortcuts to take to local attractions or the shopping mall as this is helpful especially if its your first time in Orlando. up to date info where to buy things cheaply e.g payg mobile for use during stay, walkie talkies, etc, coupons/vouchers for eateries valid of course! All this is probably done as a matter of course for lots of owners but it is things that we would've liked but not available to us.

Just thought of something we didn't like at the last rental home. They had lots of signs up around the place - saying 'don't do this or else' sort of things. I know that people need to be told these things - but put them in a visitor's book - not signs over all the walls! We felt rather unwelcome!

Oh i should have added that we got a phone card left for us from the management company, totally unexpected but fantastic idear as we could phone home and tell them we have arrived safely.
