Help me figure out our OBB entry time

I just realized that my son's Believe pass is blocked out on the day we're going to the OBB. The last two times we've gone, we entered the parks prior to 3:30 just to get our wristbands and then left for the mix-in time and had dinner in DTD until just before the party started. I was planning on doing that again but now that won't work.

I'm trying to avoid waiting in a long line to enter the park. I don't need my son melting in the sun for an hour before the party even gets started. What's a good time to enter to avoid the lines? I think I'll try to book a table service dinner inside the park during the mix-in period to avoid the crowds.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

What day of the week are you going? I’ve only went on Sundays. People start lining up well before 3PM. The later you go, the less people there will be in line. Maybe it’s different on a weekday.

We are going Sunday.

Last year we went at 4PM and there was minimal wait. In prior years we’d get there at 3PM and there were would be a heavy crowd but the line would move quickly. Since DLR moved to the new entrance system, the line has moved slower because one person often has their entire party’s tickets on their phone… and it just isn’t efficient. So don’t expect the line to be as fast.

We went through the DCA turnstiles on Sunday (8/24) between 4:30 and 5 pm. Both the OBB and the regular lines were about 10 minutes. The regular lines would have been a lot shorter without all the OBB guests who got in the wrong lines.

Have a great time at OBB!

Thanks for the input! We’ll shoot for a 4-4:30pm entry.

From 3PM until 6PM, the lines in the park, especially on a Sunday, will be painfully long. If you have a MK, I recommend hanging out in DL until the event, or skipping 3PM-6PM altogether. For reference, GOG was showing 65 to 90 minute waits… then dropped to 13 to 30 during OBB.

People start lining up for the treat trails and photo ops long before 6PM. Expect to wait 20 to 30 minutes per treat trails. Around 8PM or so, you can get through all of the treat trails without waiting.

From what I’ve read, they’ve dropped the grapes and baby carrots from the treat mix this year. So, more junk food!

Wow, treat trails 20-30 minutes, what??? The last two years we’ve gone we’ve never waited that long. That would be really disappointing since the character treat trails are my son’s favorite part and he likes to do them all multiple times.

I’d like to be inside the park before the party starts so we don’t waste any time since we might not stay until 11pm. Although we definitely won’t try to “do” anything. We have a Wine Country Trattoria ADR at 4:50pm so we can have a big meal before the party starts and not need to burn any precious party time getting food (other than treats of course!).

I am happy to see the fresh snacks go! They got so warm and gross without being refrigerated and it’s always so darn hot out!
