We are part of a grand gathering this winter, and as the self proclaimed disney know-it-all of the group, they tasked me with all of the planning. There are 9 of us total, including 2 brand new and 2 who haven't been in over 15 years. They didn't really provide much insight (except that they wanted to go to Chef Mickey's and Rainforest), so I am flying blind. I keep guessing and second guessing my choices, anyone have any thoughts?

The group:
Me, 30ish
DH, 30ish
DS, 2.5
DFriend, 30ish
DFriendWife, 30ish
DFD, 4.5
DFS, 3.5
DDad, 50ish
DMom, 50ish

Here are the restaurants I have ADRs for:
Trail's End (our arrival night, staying at FW)
Crystal Palace (dinner)
'Ohana (dinner)
Le Cellier (dinner)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
Rainforest Cafe (dinner)
Biergarten (dinner)
50s PrimeTime (lunch)
Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner)

My DS is in love with Disney Jr, so I was thinking of switching to Hollywood & Vine, but I don't know what to drop to make room for it. And I haven't heard great things about the food there. And I just heard that DFS loves Donald, so I was thinking about Tusker House breakfast. But we only want 1 sit down per day, so there's only so much room....

Wow! You have taken on a huge task and seem to have come up with a great plan.

We were not too impressed with H&V food, but there seemed to be alot of character interaction...

If I were going to drop one it would be 50's PT. My kids were a little freaked out by the whole concept for some reason...

Hope you all have a wonderful time!

Do you want me to make you feel better, or give advice?

If it's the former, good job! You'll have fun, you'll be at Disney. I love 50's PT and think it'll be good for your parents with all the old decor, it's fun. I really enjoy the Sci-Fi Diner but understand it's not for everyone. Plus, you already have 2 DHS restaurants, if you do H&V. Hollywood and Vine (I've never been) is supposed to be a good breakfast option with the added benefit of providing a head start to TSM at opening.

If you want advice, switch Rainforest for T-Rex, reconsider Le Cellier with the ages of the kids....it'll be very boring for them, IMO.

(Rainforest is cool but I've been so many times it seems "old" to me. The kids will love it. However, if you've never been to T-Rex, it's pretty amazing the first time).

I think your choices are great. We ate at Hollywood & Vine (my kids LOVED Little Einsteins at the time) and Tusker House. I thought character interaction and food was better at Tusker House! I loved it! But I did love my kids seeing Annie and Leo from LE so its a tough choice.

As far as dropping Le Cellier for the kids, no way! Its your vacation too and I don't think every minute the kids need constant entertainment. Just my two cents.

I would definitely pick Tusker House over H&V!!! The character interaction is awesome! Daisy is soooo funny. Plus, the food is amazing. The biggest selection of food i've seen! Plus, if you get an early ressie you can be one of the first ones to go on the safari ride. :cool1:

The food is very good at Tusker House. Regardless of when your ADR is timed for, the Tusker House is a very short distance from the Safari ride, so you can go grab some FPs before breakfast and hit that right after breakfast.

It's a buffet, like many of the other breakfasts.
