Its time for me to take my DS on his mother/child trip to WDW. His older brother and sister have both had their trips and now its his turn. I''m wondering should I take him in Oct around his birthday (he'll be turning 7) and we could do the MNSSHP. I've never been in Oct. After Thanksgiving? (I have done this time of year) Or after the New Year? (again haven't done this time of year) Swimming will be a priority for him.

I can't believe I'm planning this already, I haven't even been home three days from my last trip.

Thanks for any help.

Trish

If you want to be sure to have warm swimming weather. Then January is out, as well as most of Dec (which is strongly hit or miss). I vote for Oct w/ MNSSHP. Was that even an option????? Anyhow, lower crowds, great weather, and MNSSHP is great!!! We went last year 10/30-11/8 and overall I think it was the best time of year we've gone yet!

I've only been back home for three days too! (GREAT trip, wasn't the weather perfect!?) My next decision is basically the same as yours. I'll be taking my DGDs next year and have decided to go over the oldest ones birthday, Nov 10. I think a trip to WDW makes a terrific birthday present - your son would probably think so too!

I have been several times in Early Jan and swimming is going to be iffy this time of year. One year it was 70-80's all week and we were able to swim. But the other times, it has been quite chilly in am and pm and swimming would have been uncomfortable. So if swimming is a priority for him, I would go in October when you know that he will be able to do this.

Have fun deciding.

I agree with the others. If swimming is a priority, October is the best of the times you mentioned. After Labor Day in September is a real good time to go if you like it hot, and the crowds are low:earsboy:

I also agree with the majority. I've been in January and the weather is too unpredictable to know if he will be able to swim. We are going in October this year for the first time and going to MNSSHP and I'm so excited. It sounds like it is going to be fantastic. It also give you something new to do at WDW that you won't have the opportunity to do on other trips there. My vote for you and DS is October. :sunny:
