I'm struggling. I'm hoping maybe you all experienced Disney goers can help me make a final decision today.

We are trying to decide between a Poly CL Lagoon view and a GF CL at SL. We want to be on the monorail, so I think we've eliminated our other choices. But between these two I can find so many pros and cons. I'm hoping maybe one of you has some insight that could assist.

Thank you!!

Does either theme appeal to you more? Both hotels are well themed, but those themes are very different. Personally I prefer the theme of the GF slightly over the Poly, but that is always going to be a personal decision.

Will you be driving? If so, I find the Poly parking to be more convenient for self parking than GF, where self parking is across the street.

Are you spending most of your time at MK or will you spend your time more equally divided between the parks? Being able to walk from the Poly to the TTC can make going to Epcot more convenient and also gives you more options to MK in the event the monorails aren’t working or are very crowded.

Both properties have pros and cons, and only you can decide which one meets your needs best. Although I prefer the theming of GF, usually the extra transportation options win over theme, and we end up at Poly when considering those two resorts.

It's really down to personal preference, IMHO. We've stayed at both multiple times (both CL and standard rooms). Personally, the noise and chaos of Poly gets to me after awhile and Poly CL lagoon view will be loud with the electric water pageant, fireworks and ferry boats. We stayed at Poly CL lagoon view for my DS's first trip when he was 1 and I thought I was going to lose my mind with the water pageant and fireworks while he was sleeping. I'm also not a big fan of the food options at Poly. Capt. Cook's is quite chaotic and, unless you have an ADR, it's virtually impossible to eat at the TS there.

I much prefer GF. It's much quieter and less chaotic and there are far more restaurant choices. There's also shade at the pool!

Personally, I would stay at GF, but there are others who love Poly.

I think these are good points to consider. We haven’t stayed at GF but just returned from our first trip to Poly. We LOVED it. It was so quiet and peaceful (the only thing I found noisy was the main building. Our room was probably the quietest hotel room I’ve ever been in!

The other consideration is where you want to eat. Ohana is a must do for us while the restaurants at GF don’t appeal to me.

I like restaurants at both properties, and have found it very easy to walk between them for dining, so I don't usually take that into consideration as much as someone else might. But it is another thing to consider if you really love the restaurants at one, and dislike the restaurants at the other.

I prefer GF as it's more beautiful and peaceful. Being one monorail stop to the Magic Kingdom can't be beat in the morning.

I voted for Poly CL. We've stayed at both resorts (although not CL at the Poly) and while I do love the GF, I didn't care for SL. I found the lounge small and chaotic and not very relaxing. With that said, you really can't go wrong with either one as both resorts (overall) are very nice, it just depends which theme/decor/lounge appeals to you the most. Good luck!

I think it would depend on the size and ages of your party and your goals for the trip. We have stayed at GF, Poly and CR (only CL was at CR) and between the three GF is our favorite. Back when my son was younger, Poly was the favorite, it seems to be a little more family friendly which is why we wouldn't stay there now as my son is grown. Poly seems a little louder and more busy than GF to us. We love GF, we love the main building to just hang out in, we love the feel of the place and it seems a little more adult oriented.

Thank you--the noise is a consideration for me. Which building did you stay in, and which view?

Our girls will be 7 and 9 at the time of the trip, with a birthday celebration during the week. They will likely want 2 MK days, and then a day each at Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Not sure about our 5th day.

That age, I would go with Poly, it's fun for kids.

We were in Aotearoa, room 3209. Rooms were very well soundproofed. We faced the monorail which was actually a nice view.

With girls that age I woudl choose the Grand. I love both resorts, but will share my DGD comments on her last Poly trip with my DD and DSIL: "It's Nice Mom, but I'm a Grand Girls, like my Nana" LOL!!!! SHe was a bit older than your girls, but loved the Grand when we took teh two little Princesses on my street. They were the ages of your girls.

This is my DD's favorite longhouse. Quiet, secluded, and a perfect "private" beach closeby.

I can't decide for you either! I love the Poly and the GF. I will say that the Poly CL lounge has a better atmosphere with the castle and beach to look onto, seeing fireworks from inside or right outside on the beach, and you can walk to the TTC to get to Epcot. But... I also love the Grand Floridian's atmosphere. I think if I had two girls your age, I might do Grand Floridian because it feels "princessy" to me but I didn't vote because I can't decide either!

Holy smokes! I was going to post this EXACT same question! We are going in October with girls 12 & 9 and my son who will be 6. It’s his first time. I have spent so much time trying to decide. We’ve done both resorts before...standard room. This is our first CL res.

I think we are going with Poly for the theme, lava pool and overall atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong, we loved GF with the girls but I think my son will LOVE the Poly. I also think the Poly CL has more charm than SL, from what I’ve seen. It’s a tough decision but I can’t get my mind off of staying at the Poly.
