Trying to finalize our plans before my ADR and attempting to try out some new dining this trip.
Party of 5 with 3 boys: 10, 8, 4.
Here are some choices we are deciding between:

HS: Brown Derby or 50s Prime Time - any other ideas? We did Minnie's Holiday and Dine last Dec and we were not impressed

Character meal: Debating between TH Dinner on Thanksgiving Day or breakfast at Cape May on Epcot day or the Garden Grill

Dinner : Narcoosees or Ohana as we are staying at the Poly.

Thanks for any help!

I cant speak towards Brown Derby as we have never tried it. 50s has always been among our favorites and must do every trip
We have friends who love TH and CM breakfasts. Again, I cant speak to either other than what I have heard. For me, its Thanksgiving Day, so GG or even Liberty Tree Tavern would feel more like true holiday faire
Ohana dinner trumps Narcoosees for me

We love 50's Prime Time. We eat there on every trip. The fried chicken dinner is very good.

At MGM 50's is a great choice, as is SciFi. With the kiddos they may prefer the ladder due to the fun drive in environment and the movies they can watch. Plus the price point is a little less at SciFi. I would definitely skip HBD. We only tried it once but worse "signature" restaurant we've ever encountered.

For a character meal, Tusker House is definitely our favorite as they have more unique offerings. We tried garden grill on our last trip and it was fine, but not in the same league as Tusker.

For dinner, again I've never done Ohana because the family style dinner concept doesn't interest me but Narcoossee's has become one of our favorites. Ive had both a pasta and scallop dish that were out of this world. Plus despite being a signature, it has a more casual vibe to it

Yes Narcoossee's has been on my must try list! We are doing to Ohana for breakfast one day so may try it for dinner versus Ohana dinner. Forgot about ScFi!

Here are my picks:
Prime Time, or branch out and go to Sci-fi. The kids would probably enjoy the atmosphere and the burgers and shakes. HBD is a more sedate place, and I was pretty unimpressed with it.

Cape May breakfast is my absolute favorite character meal. Laid back atmosphere, good food, kids can color on the table's butcher paper, and the characters look cute in their beach wear.

'Ohana, hands down! It's a fun place and we love the food. Kids have coconut races during dinner and the entertainer is great.

We love Brown Derby. Love the atmosphere, service and food. I'm not a big fan of the food at 50's, but it's pretty neat inside! Sci-Fi is quite an experience if you've never been. The food isn't great though and you can't really have a conversation in there if that matters at all to your family.

I would pick TH (LOVE TH and what a fun place to be on Thanksgiving!) or Garden Grill (love the food and characters!). Cape May is cute, but it's your typical breakfast buffet and the food isn't great.

If you've always wanted to try Narcoosees, go for it!

I know I'm in a teeny tiny minority, but the only meal that's ever made me sick (my husband too-- he ordered the same thing) was at the Brown Derby. (And my daughter's steak was bloody raw, then brown, when she ordered medium. And my adult niece was told by the chef that she was NOT having an allergic reaction, since he had put none of her allergens into her meal. She hadn't complained, merely answered the question when the waiter asked why she had barely touched her dinner.)

So I'm going to recommend against the Brown Derby, though I know it's a big favorite with a lot of people.

We love breakfast at Cape May, or breakfast at Tusker House.

We are probably going to end up at AK on Thanksgiving so it looks like we will be leaning towards a TH lunch/dinner there that day.
