Ok, so I'm somehow turning 40 in November. While I still think this is not possible, my husband assures me it.is.coming, lol.

I've decided we are traveling somewhere for it and he agrees.

We did WDW in Nov 2012 for 11 days for our 10th anniv and just did 7 days in March with my sister's family and my mom. We ususally average a trip every 4 or 5 years so that was alot of WDW at one time (not that I'm complaining).

So...I'm thinking WDW again and he agrees, but has some other ideas floating in his head for possible surprises.

If we do go, seeing how we've been 2x in 6 months we don't have to ride everything and found ourselves sitting and people watching or pin trading alot last trip and having a blast with it, so 7 to 10 days isn't necessary, but certainly nice. We love POFQ and would do that again for a longer trip, but I've always wanted to try Poly or go back to WL or try BWi. We've done AKL and just did AKL villas and I've done BW Villas and loved all of them. We could rent DVC, but that means deciding now, and he wants an element of surprise still, so that makes it tough. We might also do Pop and DxDP and try and some more expensive restaurants we often skip. So would you do:
  1. 7 to 10 days at POFQ?
  2. 7 days at Pop and do DxDP?
  3. 3 to 5 days at a deluxe?
  4. If you'd do deluxe, which one and why?
  5. Don't go to WDW and go somewhere else altogher.
In all cases we'd have Park Hoppers.

I should add, we would most likely drive from NJ, so a shortened trip seems even shorter with drive time added. We don't want to mess with resort hopping as I rent an ecv. We hopped last trip. I had to take a bus to the new resort and meet dh there with the car...it was a pain. So it's going to be all of our time at one place.
We are looking at going now for Nov 1 to the 10th to cover MHSSHP and MVMCP, but this can be adjusted.

Have you ever done a Disney Cruise?

Fabulous!

Just a suggestion since you've had some recent visits to The World.

PS: I think my birthdays have started coming more than once each year ;)

First of all, happy birthday early! I, too, am celebrating the first anniversary of my 39th birthday at WDW this year! I cannot bring myself to say that other number.

Our Disney vacations are usually 6 days at a mod, but this year we're going 8 days at AoA. I was thinking about changing to the DxDP also, if I have to be this old, I want to really celebrate at nice places! The only reason I decided to go with AoA is because my 4 yr old is obsessed with Cars and he won't be 4 forever, otherwise we'd be staying at a deluxe (probably Poly). So much to choose!!! But the one thing that I can give concrete advise about is this: of course go to WDW!

Good luck and have fun deciding!

No we haven't done a Disney Cruise, but we did an RCCL cruise in March in connection to WDW so we've dont that recently too :rotfl2:

From your list of options I would choose #1 because I do like the moderate resorts and I definitely like 7-10 days (But I would probably select a different moderate resort). Are you including the regular dining plan in this option?... I hope that you are planning to include it .
Happy earlated B-day

I would go with the Poly! It's a beautiful resort, and since you have been twice recently, its something new and you say you have always wanted to stay there!

I love WDW but I would probably go somewhere else if I had been 2 trips in 6 months. Let some more time elapse before you next WDW trip, so it will not become 'ho-hum.' Even my KIDS were becoming luke warm about another WDW trip after our last one, even though we had a great time. So, we skipped a year and when we go back in June it will have been 2 years since our trip and they are much more excited this time.

I agree with the cruise suggestion. If you still want a little Disney spirit and quality and an inclusive / away from the world feeling, the cruise would be great! or try a resort in Bermuda or Caribbean or Hawaii.
