I'm going back to WDW in June. But I was thinking of making it a land/sea vacation. It would be me and DD (8). Would we enjoy a cruise? Should I make it a 3 day cruise/4 day land? Which should I do first, the land or cruise part?

DD sees the DCL commercials and would like to do one.

I think I would do the Land portion first, then the cruise. Only because I think the cruise would be a little more relaxing after 'doing' WDW. I always feel like I need a day or two to decompress after going to WDW. JMO

Good Luck whichever you decide, I am sure either way would be GREAT!!!!

You give cruising a try if you like it or not. :D DH and I took a 7-night Magic cruise two years ago and we absolutely loved it!! We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary so wanted to "do it up right" and we spent 4 nights at the Contemporary Resort first and did the parks, followed by the 7-night cruise. I don't think I would have wanted to do it the other way (cruise first then WDW) but that's just my opinion. We had a category 6 stateroom on the cruise and we loved the verandah, wouldn't want to cruise again without one. :D

I'm the reverse, I would do the cruise first and then the parks just because it's so sad when you have to leave the cruise ship, at least you would have WDW to look forward to still :)

That sounds like so much fun. I'd do land first, too.

We took our 2nd Cruise this past September. I gave my 8 year old DD the choice of WDW or the Cruise or a split and she picked the 7 Day Cruise, hands down. She would much rather go on the Cruise than to WDW. So, yes I think she will like it. :)

Do land first -- the cruise portion will tire you out a lot more than the WDW part (not sure exactly why, just going from personal experience). Plus, 3 days on the ship won't be enough time to fully enjoy the cruise. :)

Whatever you decide to do you may want to book each portion of the trip seperately. This seems to be the best way to get the best price. Plus you can then tweek it a little. You could even book 4 days land AND 4 days sea and have a longer vacation.Warning though --- since our first 4 day trip on DCl we've been back for two 7 day trips and HAVE NOT been to the world since! We just cannot give up time to the world that could be spent on the cruise!;)

I have APs so I'm definately doing each part separately. I might go with wovenwonder's idea of 4/4. (I'll try to get home on the weekend so I can rest up.)

We've never done the cruise, but we would do the land first:D

When we do on a cruise, we are planning land, then cruise, then land again ;)

Have a great time:D
