Help me Decide

OK, DISer's, I need some input.

I am currently planning my family's 2011 vacation. On last May's podcast cruise I used the onboard booking discount/incentive, and currently have a reservation for a 5 night Double Dip cruise on the Disney Dream in August for me and my two girls.

Dear friends of ours will be at Disney this February, and I have gotten 2 quotes to overlap them (their school vacation week is the week before ours - ours coincides with free dining). We would have 3 days with them, and then 3 days on our own. I have quotes for both Pop and POR/POFQ. Free dining!

Prices of the two trips are comparable (air fare not yet available for August 2011, but I'm sure it will be in line).

What would you do??? I am really torn. We love cruising, and two days at Castaway Cay sounds awesome....but so does meeting friends, who we don't live near, at our favorite place.

I'd meet with the friends. You can do the cruise anytime.

I would say meet up with friends.

Last December I got meet up with a friend from high school. I live in South Carolina and she lives in Ohio. Hadn't seen each other in 27 years. It was awesome!!! We met at the Rose Garden, saw Wishes, watched the Spectomagic parade and went our separate ways. Just the small amount of time we spent together was worth the trip!! I hope to meet up with her down there again!

I'd have to agree with Mike, you can go on the cruise anytime.

But, as we've all experienced, you never know what can happen, and that makes it important to spend quality times with loved ones whenever you can. This could be a very special vacation with LOTS of memories with your friends that if you go on the cruise, you may never have a chance to make.
