Just me and my son (7) next trip during spring break '09 (March 28-April 5). Which resort would you recommend?

I have stayed at CBR, OKW (1BR), and POFQ (twice). Each one is a great resort.

CBR and OKW are pretty large resorts and both do have internal bus transportation so having a car isn't a must, but can be helpfu. POFQ is much smaller area wise and would work out well without a car. The rooms are nice and the theming is great. Also, they have the sea serpent slide there that both of my kids loved when we visited (they were 3 and 4 when we stayed there).

All of these resorts are centrally located within the world and you should have a great trip no matter where you stay.

Voted POR because that would be my choice over FQ but both would be okay. No car would mean to mean to provide as much to my location as possible. At the POR/FQ you have TWO main pools to use and a fun resort, especially for a young boy who may appreciate the Huck Finn type atmosphere. You have your buses, but you also have the boat to DTD which is a huge plus.

Thanks for the votes so far, please keep them coming!

Here are my views on the choices, so far:

CBR: Haven't stayed here in 10 years. I remember it being gorgeous, and with the new pool completed, it will really tempt my "Captain Jack." I stayed at the Poly this past April, and love any tropical theming.

POR: Our home-away-from-home. This is where we normally book and we both love it, but I am starting to wonder if we shouldn't expand our horizons :)

POFQ: Again, love the theming and smallness of the resort, but the food court decor freaks us both out. We are not clown people! And the slide in no way appeals to DS. It would be for convenience only.

OKW: Never stayed here before, but looks quite tranquil, and I may be able to book 5 nights for around $600 (studio). Unfortunately, we want 7-8 nights which would mean a split stay, and with it being so spread out with not as many bus stops, we would probably need a car which, to me, defeats the purpose of staying IN Disney. Also love that we would get a small kitchenette (microwave!)

Thanks again!

I love POFQ. It is one of my favorites and ages ago when my kids were young, that was a favorite.

But if you don't like the theming of the Food Court...go for something else.

The pool at the Coronado Springs is beautiful. There is always a good time at the Carribean Beach Resort...although I have not been to that one for well over 10 years.
