Trying to finalise plans for our holiday this year. Cant decide between:

  • Coronado springs 30/10/08-13/11/08 attending MNSSHP and MVMCP, Epcot food and wine festival
  • Port Orleans 30/10/08-13/11/08 attending MNSSHP and MVMCP, Epcot food and wine festival
  • Animal Kingdom lodge 28/08/08-11/09/08

All 3 are the same price. Im torn between the extra attractions or the luxury of a deluxe. Also unsure weather wise what would be best. Share your expert opinons!

Haven't stayed at Animal Kingdom or Coronado Springs, although have looked around and eaten at both, both look very nice. Port Orleans Riverside however I can vouch for, and can tell you it's lovely, great food court , boat to Downtown Disney, fun pool and general ambience is wonderful. Did the MNSSHP last 2 years, and great fun.Book your dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern before party, the characters are dressed in Halloween costume and puts you in the mood.
I can't recommend POR highly enough, and prefer it to Beach club and Polynesian (in a value for money aspect - the Poly is magical but £££££)

I'd choose POR because it's my favourite Disney resort and I've always had the most amazing stay there. Plus it has the boat to Downtown Disney which is a really great bonus.

I would definitely go for one of the Oct/Nov trips. Great time of year to go, not as hot as August/September, and the MNSSHP is fantastic, haven't done the MVMCP though (yet!) ;) We've stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter a few times and love the resort, it's quite compact so all rooms are not far from the bus stop/food court/shop and the buses pick up here first (before going on to Riverside), so you have more chance of getting a seat, and they also drop off here first, so perfect all round! :d:

We stayed at AKL last year (similar time) and it was fantastic, having said that you pay a lot extra for a deluxe, and we didn't feel like we used the hotel much, Mostly in parks etc. Although pool area was really relaxing. (when we stayed at All Stars too busy to relax). We're trying Corando Springs this year (end of Aug again).

I'd love to go for Halloween, doesn't fit with schooling though (mine are now approaching GCSEs). Weather will be OK I'm sure. We went in December a couple of years ago and still went to water parks (had to choose right day though!)

So if it was me choosing go for Halloween! Have a visit to AKL though-it is fantastic!

I've stayed at both CSR and POR and we're back at POR this year as we much preferred POR. I would love to stay at AKL but only if I could afford a savannah room.

Have a look on the resorts boards :thumbsup2

Definitely the October/November dates! That way you get to experience all the of the extra events.

Unless you've already been to them in which case, go for the luxury option!

i cant help you with the hotel choices but we have gone in october our last two trips and are planning for oct 09 and its a great time to go.both parties are lots of fun.

I can't comment on the accomodation, but would definately go in October. We are trying POFQ for the first time this August! :thumbsup2
