I'm (trying to stay) on a 20-point program for WW. In my science class today, I learned that teenagers shouldn't go much under 1200...and I'm at 1000 at it is! Do you think it would extremely horrible if I kept at a 23- or 24-point plan even though that would mean I'd gain? Or something?

So 20 WW points = 1000 calories? I don't do WW but that doesn't sound right.

Isn't every point worth fifty calories, though?

20 x 50=1000?

Must not be because I don't think they'd put anyone on anything lower than 1200 calories.

50 calories per point is just the average (26 cals -->74 cals after incorporating fat and fiber = 1 point) -- when you factor in higher fiber foods, vegetables and other zero point foods, you actually go higher than 50 cals. Try counting your calories one day and you will see.

If you eat ONLY high fat foods, then you will have around 50 cals./point.

You should be fine with 20, but it probably wouldn't hurt you to go up to 23 or 24-- you likely would not gain-- at most, you would maintain, and you may even lose more!

Don't forget WW has the 35 flex points per week, in addition to the daily points, so if you divided that up, then you'd be fine with 23 or 24 (or more?)

Thanks guys!!! It just seemed absolutely nuts that I was trying to do that...

DisneyGirl-I may try counting the calories when I can be home and have more ability to write things down...thanks!

Thanks, Pugdog!!!

Shows I should have done more research, eh?

I forgot about my flexies!!! Thanks, Jedi Librarian!!
