Help me decide which days to go where

We are flying in on Tuesday 8/16 and going home the following Wednesday 8/24. We figured we'd do HS on Wed, MK Thurs & Fri, skip the parks altogether Sat & Sun, Epcot Mon, AK or finish a park on Tues. Now with all I'm hearing about crazy crowds at MK, I'm wondering if we should do MK on Wed & Thurs, since I'm assuming it won't be as crowded, then do HS on Fri? I am looking forward to our first trip but I worry it will be disappointing because I'm hearing a lot of negatives and it sounds like quality has declined. I know that I need to be realistic so I'm expecting crowds and lines and annoyances. I'm just worried it's lost its magic.

I try to avoid MK on weekends to avoid the crowds, but I will go to other parks. Overall you can look at it 2 ways: 1. Go to EMH to get onto rides more easily 2. Avoid the park with EMH because they tend to be more crowded. We did the latter this past year and had more success with avoiding crowds. It was still magical with our little one and we had a good time. Good luck!

Just check easywdw for the best days for each park

We looked at the crowd calendar predictions on easywdw to help plan what park on what day. It really helped up in planning our first trip last year. With FP+ and a good plan, you can minimize the amount of time spent in line while still enjoying the trip.

I agree that you should look at easywdw.com's crowd calendars to plan your park days. And you can use their cheat sheets to help with park touring plans. We do this and only then do we make our dining ADRs, based on which park we'll be in each day.
