Hello all! I have been reading these boards for a long time now, but never really posted until now. Thanks to the many tips I have read here, my husband and I have had two great trips to Disney since we got married in July 2003 (we also went for our honeymoon, but I didn't find the boards until after we got back). I am proud to say that I have converted my husband into a definite Disney World fan! Now we're planning to go back with my parents in early 2006. But my dilemma is picking the right week. The first week of January and the first week of February are not possible (due to work), but other than that, we're open for anytime in January or February. Since you are the experts, I would appreciate your thoughts. My parents have only stayed onsite once when they went with my little brother's high school band. I'd really like to make this a great trip for them, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

I'd avoid Presidents Week like the plague. It's one of the busiest time of year. I also hear that the time around Martin Luther Kings birthday weekend (Friday through Tuesday) can be pretty crowded as well. Otherwise, I think it's not particularly crowded. Someone else can comment on the marathon's imact. Not sure if that adds to the overall crowds at the parks or not. Hope that helps.

I think anytime in January not around a holiday would be the lowest crowds. It's cold, though.

Pretty much most of January is lower crowds. It can be pretty cold though--40-50 degree temps are not my idea of theme park weather. However, once President's Day hits- most of February is pretty crowded. The last full week of Feb isn't too bad-- and it's a little warmer than Jan-- you may want to explore that option.

February is warmer with nicer weather, but avoid the President's Day holiday.

I have always wanted to go the last week of February, but it doesn't work with our school schedule. When I lived in Texas, I remember that being a VERY nice time of year in the south.

I went the very last week of Feb last year and it was very nice. The weather was cold though.
