Help me decide what to do

Ok here’s the situation… me and my girlfriend are planning our first real vacation by ourselves and we want nothing more than to experience the Disney magic! :wizard:

We’re looking at going May 14-21 as soon as she gets out of finals.

I am a AAA member and an upcoming Disney Visa card holder.

What should I do?

Since no discounts have come out yet, through AAA I can get a rate of $84.15 a night at Pop Century… 7 nights would be (with tickets) approx. $987.05 + tax

I can fly from Knoxville, TN direct flight through Delta (which will be part of the Disney Magical Express) for about $186 per person, round trip. This will be my first time flying and don’t know what’s a good deal, and when or where to purchase tickets.

I have been talking to dreamcometruevacations.com and got a quote (with AAA discount) for 7 nights at Pop with 6-day standard park tickets …grand total of $1056. They will continue to look for special deals, codes, etc… to get me the best price.

Now what should I do? Should I go ahead… purchase the Delta (non-refundable) plane tickets for $186 and go ahead and get my reservation with dreamcometruevacations.com? Or wait about a month to see if any codes come out or if flight costs go down???

If I receive an email with a discount code, will travel agents honor those as well or do you have to go direct through Disney?

What should I do???? (I WANT A DISCOUNT CODE SOON!!!!!! *sniff sniff*)

p.s. what would the crowds be like around this time? Would it be better to stay at Pop or one of the All Stars?

Tks for your help!

:earseek:

Wow, you DO Have a dilemma. Since you know you can get the plane tickets, and they may not be available later, then get them. Book your room with the AAA discount and save yourself some money. Then just keep looking for another discount as you go. If it doesn't come up, at least you know you have saved a bit by not going with the travel agent.

I would suggest going ahead with the airline resv., as that is not a bad rate.

As for the resort discount. Generally those are released about 3 months out. I would check mousesavers.com, as they will probably release Disney Visa discounts. You can then call and request that rate.

It sounds like you are trying to book a package and you will probably come out better buying the items seperately. Call CRO and see if there are any room only AAA rates available. If you dont get it the first time keep trying, the closer it gets to your visit, the more you need to call and the better your chances.

As for tickets you can go on the AAA website and order your tickets with their discount at anytime. These prices are not going to change, so you can do that now.

Doing a little at a time also helps to spread out your payments.

ok what is a CRO? (call me dumbo haha)

SO getting the AAA rate through a travel agent could be more than calling a CRO or disney and asking for a AAA rate on a room? WOuld it be less than $84 a night?
