I am working on plans for my solo trip :goodvibes. But I can't decide where to stay. I know I want concierge, but thats it. I have stayed at the Floridian, the Poly, and the AKL. I am planning a mother/daughter trip for fall of 2006 at the AKL (which I love :cloud9: ) So I don't know if I want to stay there or try another place.

I know I don't want to stay the Contemporary and the Boardwalk is a lot like the Jersey shore so I was thinking that would be out too.

What are your suggestions? I'm leaning towards the Floridan since I really want to be pampered. But I wanted other ideas. Thanks!!!

I love the Floridian, but if you would like to try something different, what about Yacht or Beach Club?? Since you've already done the MK resorts, why not try one of these?? They are beautiful resorts!!!

What park do you plan to visit the most?

You ruled out the two I'd choose, Contemporary for the spectacular view of the castle, and the Boardwalk for the nightlife and design. I've heard the Poly concierge is hit or miss.

How about the Wilderness Lodge? I love the rustic lobby!

When is your trip? Dh and kids are 'tired' of Disney - I wish I could go with.

I'm a Beach Club fan. I love the location, love the themeing, love the boardwalk area right there, love being able to pop in and out of Epcot, love Stormalong Bay, love Beaches and Cream.

We had a great stay at the Poly concierge in Sept. 2004....we also loved WL concierge....I'd probably go with the GF though...never stayed concierge there but would love to :)

I would say try something new and go for the BC or YC. You could take walks around the lake and walk to Epcot and it's a nice boat ride to MGM.

I stayed at the WL when I went solo.

I like the idea of entering the lobby and going to my room from there. All under one roof is very appealing when traveling solo.

The setting is lovely and very relaxing.

Enjoy!

I'm with Disney4us and the two resorts that you ruled out. Have you stayed concierge at the GF, Poly or AKL? If so, then the YC/BC cl might be sort of a let down. While we enjoyed our YC cl stay this past December, it was not what I would describe as pampering. We're from New England and I thought the Cape Cod theme would be a little too close to home for us, but it's Disney and it really worked. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in the area again, but I would definitely suggest BWI for a solo "pampered" concierge stay.

If you find yourself more inclined to stay on the MK side, then CR 14th floor or the GF main building would be my choice. The CR only has 5 standard concierge rooms and 11 suites on the 14th floor. When you reserve a room there, they will lock in your room and you'll know immediately if you have an MK view. If you're solo, you'll probably want a king bed and both king bed rooms there have the MK view. Very exclusive and very pampered. I'm also a sucker for the romantic Victorian theme at the GF. Their RPC lounge overlooks the main lobby. In the evenings, you can sip on a glass of wine and listen to the GF Orchestra play on the balcony below you. Not to mention the GF Spa and Healthclub, very luxurious even if you don't have a treatment scheduled. As a GF resort guest you can spend as much time relaxing in the women's lounge as you like.

What a nice decision you have,
Tammi
