ok, i already have 5 nights booked at the WL, but i want to stay longer. if i try to stay at the WL they seem to only have waterview rooms available and will have to move me for the entire stay (???) increasing my cost $800 (thats $800 additional). not quite in the budget. so i suppose i will have to resort hop. but where else should we stay? i am traveling alone with my 15 month old, so i dont want to stay too far away. id like something fairly easy and safe. also, if im resort hopping, how do they work transportation between hotels? will i need to reserve a car or something? i wasnt planning on renting. if this is going to cost too much or be a pain then ill just stick with the 5 night trip. but i would really like to stay longer.

Welcome to the DIS, Nancy Drew!

Resort hopping is pretty easy, but if your 15 month old needs a midday nap, this could be a problem because you may not have a room for a while on the day you switch resorts.

Basically, when you switch resorts, you call bell services at the first resort and tell them that you are switching to another resort. They will pick up your luggage, and Disney will move it to the second resort. Your luggage will arrive at the second resort mid-to-late afternoon.

When I switch resorts, I usually go to a park for the day, and go to the park after the official check-in time.

As for what other resorts you can try, how about a moderate resort? I love the POFQ. The grounds are beautiful, and it's a lot smaller than the other moderates.

Hey Nancy,
You can always just change to the more expensive room at WL for the additional night(s). You can also keep checking back to see if your room category becomes available for your date(s).

I agree. You can always book an additional reservation at WL. Just keep your original reservation and add on another reservation in the higher category room that is available. If it's two additional days, you only have to pay the price difference for the two days, not for your whole stay. Probably in the ballpark of $150 to $300, not the full $800 you are talking about. I just think it would be more convenient to stay put, and I'm sure you'll want easy access to the MK with a 15 month old. BTW, I think you're a heck of a mom to take a trip with your little one alone. :love2:
