Hi..am currently planning our trip for May 09 and have gotten my head up in knots trying to decide between the SL and the NPB.

the choices are : SL Montana Room with lake view versus the NPB admirals floor with lake view.

I like the SL because it may be more child-friendly. Have read that the NPB is maybe more suited to older children of 8yrs upwards. My two children will be 4 and 10 months old at the time of travel.

I like the NPB because it seems to have much bigger rooms, the pool is known to be the best pool out of all of the hotels (or so it says on these boards) :confused3 and i like the idea of the safe in the room, with room service breakfast optional.

However the SL does seem to have a more child-friendly theme and obviously is a bit cheaper money-wise. I dont mind spending a bit of extra money as this is a trip for my 30th birthday so dont mind spending more for something special - but dont want to waste money if there is not much difference in the two hotels IYKWIM?

Another choice would be the SL but to upgrade to a suite- but tbh i dont know much about the setup of the suites and would need two beds (or one bed and one sofabed).

Argh! so confused!

So which do you prefer and why?

Can't help you pick between the 2 but if it's any help we just go tback from SL - MOntana Room. it was perfectly adequate. To be honest we spent so little time at the hotel as the parks were so busy we just wanted to be in them all the time to get as much done as we could.

We're now booking to go again and I'm torn between NBC and Hotel NY. I would definately go back to SL but just thought I would try something different.

Good luck - you'll be pleased wherever you stay - you're at Disney!! :cool1:

If it was me i would go for SL... because it feel alot smaller and therefore not as busy... SL also it more my kind of theming tho too.

Ive voted for S Lodge Montana room. Never stayed at NPB but stayed at SL and loved it

I would choose SL - I have stayed at NBH so would like to try somewhere else. It is on my list as the next place I wan to stay ;)

I voted suite because you'll get the VIP fastpass!! No lines-whoop!

I would have voted SL montana over NPC just for reference if the suite works out too pricey.

I've stayed at both and preferred the Sequoia Lodge - we're going back there in eight days in fact! I can't put my finger on why exactly though - I just got a better feeling staying at SL over NPB. Maybe it was just that SL has less rooms (especially in the main building) and so it feels less crowded; certainly the breakfast was a lot less of a "battle" there than at NPB. Plus, despite being the 'fourth' hotel, it's actually quicker to walk to it from the parks than Newport Bay is, because it's on the narrow side of the lake if you see what I mean.

We've stayed in both, the NBC once and the SL four times, much prefer the SL, I find, it feels more homely and the bar is nicer than the NBC.

I voted for NBC just by a whisker because of the pool. We've stayed in both hotels but only in the standard rooms or in the case of SL one of the lodges (Yellowstone).
I think next summer we'll be heading back to the SL, not because we didn't enjoy the NBC but because it's my DD2 turn to chose the hotel and if we can't afford the Hotel New York then it's SL.
