Help me decide. . .Resort Question

Okay so last August we stayed at Asmu and had a great time. This year my son tells me he wants to stay at Contemporary Resort. Well, I don't want a garden room so MK view is all that is on my choices so I am thinking of doing a split stay with ASMu and Contemporary. . .either that or for nearly the same money doing Swan or Dolphin. Note: we never do dining plan as I have had gastric bipass and don't eat enough. . .

My kids love staying at the contemporary. It can't be beat for convienience. We have stayed in both a garden view and tower room and enjoyed both. The garden view rooms can look out on Bay Lake as well as the gardens. Since we don't spend all that much time in the room, except to sleep, we stayed in a garden room last time, saving a bit of money to use for other things. I've stayed in the Dolphin and it just didn't seem Disney to me, although the location is nice. My kids have never wanted to stay there, I was there for a conference which is partially why they don't want to stay there, too many business people.

We have stayed at the CR on almost every trip to the world. Last trip for financial reasons, we stayed at ASMu. I can tell you, that we (16 person Grand Gathering) had a great time there. I will always be partial to CR for many reasons. If you do a split stay, I would recommend starting at ASMu, then spending the second half at CR. That way, you will have ridden the buses and dealt with the crowds at park closing waiting for the buses at the beginning of the trip. At the end of the trip, you will be able to walk back to the CR from MK at the end of the night. You will also have Monorail access to the MK, Epcot (MGM as well if you go through Epcot )
