With 3 boys, 11, 8 and 4, would you go to Whispering Canyon Cafe, Boma's, Chef Mickey's or Ohana (for dinner or breakfast?) We already have one character meal scheduled at LTT. We are not seafood lovers and kids/DH are not adventurous when it comes to food--mainly meat and potato/standard kid fare type stuff. What would you do? We got the free Disney dining plan!

well Mickey is not at LTT - so if you want Mickey, I would suggest Chef Mickey's. We usually go there for our arrival dinner - it is a ton of fun. If you don't think you want another character meal, then I would recommed Ohana's (great food and fun family atmosphere - coconut races, hula hoops, gummy worm prizes!!) I have heard Wispering Canyon Cafe is great too if your kids are into the whole atmosphere there. If they are shy - stick w/ Ohana's for sure.

Oh, do not do Ohana's for breakfast. We just did this in May and it was BORING and the food was just average. Chef Mickey's is SO much more fun and much more to choose from - dinner or breakfast.

If everyone likes steak I've heard of a lot of great reviews for Le Cellier in Canada. Here's a link to their menu http://allearsnet.com/menu/menu_lcd.htm.

We went to Ohana's for breakfast & dinner. Breakfast was ok but we enjoyed more the character interaction. But we really loved the food for dinner ! It was really good & we also timed our dinner with the Wishes fireworks so it was extra special. As we were having our dinner, the lights dimmed & we saw all the fireworks from our table. Made it more magical princess:

If your family likes a lot of interaction with the wait staff, I would say to go to Whispering Canyon.

I have never been to Chef Mickeys, but I know that a lot of people enjoy it.

We do the character breakfast, it has become a tradition. Wonderful selection and lots of character interaction. Even my teenagers love it.

On our first day in WDW we did not go to a park so we rode the monorail (for DS) and went to Chef Mickey (to eat and meet Mickey Mouse). It made it nice because DS got to see MM first thing in WDW and we were not running around looking for him in the parks.
Sometimes he was hard to find in the parks and when you did, there was always a huge line and it was like sign my book and get your picture and on to the next kid.
At the restaurant, they will come to your table and spend a few one on one minutes with your child making them feel special. After all, they found the child!!
My vote is for Chef Mickey's on your first night in WDW. Also, you dont have to use a park ticket to get in.
Have fun!!!

Also, with 3 boys, have you been to SciFi in MGM? Cool place. My DS loved it. Let me know if you have any questions.

Would Garden Grill be good for a boy or something else in Epcot? Is Le Cellier more for adults?

Boma for breakfast, and ask for Albert for your server. The best breakfast and best service.

Just cancelled reservations for Garden Grill and made some for Le Cellier. CANT WAIT!! :mickeybar

Pandora174, what time was your PS for in order to see Wishes? Also, how late do the buses run from the Poly to another resort? TIA!

Has anyone eaten at LeCellier? Is it kid friendly. I didn't see a kids menu so I guess he orders an adult meal? We might just let him share off our plates...if they will let us. :sunny:

I think your boys would enjoy a meal at WCC! Their antics are so much fun! :rotfl: Kids really love the ketchup routine and the pony races! :Pinkbounc Also, the food is very good!

We ate at LeCellier and our DS ate off the kid's menu. He had a Cheeseburger and then had the choice of fries or corn.
He also got a few pieces of fruit with his meal. They were very kid friendly. There were several kids while we were there. Just wear what you are wearing to the park, dont feel like you need to dress up.
It was wonderful. Have fun.

If your boys are a bit rowdy and love antics its WCC all the way. The dinner skillet is delicious. The kids love the all you care to drink shakes. Ask for a LARGE drink for yourself or have your mate do it. Be on the lookout for flying straws. Ask for ketchup. Drop your mates fork and make them ask for a new clean one. FYI this is a very loud restaurant dont go with a headache or for a quiet lunch/dinner. I happen to think all the antics helps my DS6 to use up some energy and still eat his meal.

As I tell this I remember a woman complaining to me about dinner. She took her grandkids and was appauld that the waiter threw her straws and paper napkins at the table. Her grandkids of course loved it.

If your boys want Character interaction Chef Mickeys is the way to go. My DS6 loves both so we do both. :goodvibes The food is as good as most buffets. There is an area for the kids. I prefer Breakfast a Chef Mickeys and so do my kids DD16 and DS6. Its a great wake up.

Whatever you decide it will be a good choice. :teeth:

Well, after all this, we have decided on Crystal Palace for dinner--I was asking my 4-yr-old (who doesn't know we're going) who he would rather meet--MM or Pooh/Eeyore/Tigger? He responded 'Mom, I told you I wanted to meet Tigger'; he saw me reading the dis one day and someone had a picture of their child with Tigger. I guess the older two (8 & 11) will have to put up with it, or they might end up liking it. I myself love all the Pooh characters as well. Also canceled a lunch TS for the Plaza Rest. and booked Ohana for dinner! Yippee!
