Help me decide on a hairstyle for dd

My 12 year old DD (and just about every one of her friends in middle school) has shoulder length or longer, all one length hair, parted in the middle. Most wear either a low ponytail and/or hairband, or just loose. Straight seems to be the preferred style, but DD has beautiful waves and curls, and loves them.

For little girls, I love the old "Buster Brown" bob or "Pixie" cut. Our next door neighbor's little girl (age 9) just got the cutest cut- very similar to the "reverse bob", with hair quite short in back, and tapering down to longer in front. She wears hers parted on the side- it is adorable!

Keep in mind that if her hair is wavy, it might be a lot more curly/wavy when you cut it. If you decide to go ahead with the cut, ask the hairdresser to cut it a little longer at first, so if it curls up it won't be too short.
I've had too many haircuts that ended up too short....

I did it! It turned out adorable! And I wonder why I didn't do it sooner! And dd loves it - she was so cute the next morning she sat up in bed & brushed it toward her face & said she was fixing her new hair! PRECIOUS!

I convinced my 7th grade dd to buck the trend. She got a stacked bob?? (shorter in the back but NOT shaved), a touch longer in the front. No bangs. Her hair is very, very coarse although it isn't curly. Also, she has a shocking amount of hair. So even though it got thinned out and layered while it was long, it didn't just tangle, it MATTED. Took dh and I an hour to get it properly brushed out, and dd just couldn't manage it on her own. Also, her hair just ate shampoo and she couldn't get it all rinsed out, so her hair never looked quite clean.

Anyway, in frustration last week, she let me chop it off. Then we got it dematted, and took her to get it shaped. Into that "stacked" bob or whatever its called. She told the hairdresser she liked it, but had silent tears on the way to the car. So we went accessory shopping. Bought a bunch of headbands that are plain with just a big crystal flower on one side, or a bow, or a butterfly. I showed her how to put it midway back on her head, so the hair is still framing her face, NOT pulled back into the headband. NOBODY her age around here wearing it that way, but it looks great on her!

If anyone here watches Teen Mom, it is not unlike Caitlyn's hair, although not colored and a touch less extreme in angles.

OP, I see you already went for it. I bet it looks precious!!
