Help Me Decide Hoop Dee Doo-Time or Category?

After all the great reviews we've read about Hoop Dee Doo we decided to give it a try. We are on the dining plan and there are no category 2 spots left for our date unless we go at 9:30. Right now we are booked in category 3 at 7:15 which is the time we want, but category 1,2,&3 are all available at 9:30.

How bad is category 3? Should we switch to a meal that would be very late for us to have a better seat?

We are from TX, so 9:30 ADR weren't terrible for us our first year. (DD was 9 & DS was 6.) We ate late so we could get Cat 1 on the DDP. We were able to sit Cat 1 again this year, but at 5pm. I think Cat 1 is definitely worth eating a little later

I've sat in cat 3 before, and I honestly didn't hate it. However, I think it's more fun to be in the middle of the action on the floor. We usually do the 9:30 show so if I were you I'd switch.

We have done this twice, we always went to the 7:15 and sat in the back..had a great time both times..have fun..

I don't think cat 3 seats are horrible, but the cat 1 definetly gives you a better vantage point. I think it makes a difference if you have kids. My kids couldn't make it to the 9:30 show; it's too late for them. We've sat in cat 2 the last 3 times at the 5:00 show, once in the middle and twice in the back at the next to last table, and the kids had a ball!

1) I recommend Cat-1.
2) Cat-2 and Cat-3 seats may have posts in the way.
3) Most Cat-3 seats required you to turn around and/or crank your neck to see.

last time we went we were paying oop so we sat in the Cat 3 at 7:15 and it was just fine for us. The players came up and danced with us and we felt like we were a part of the show. I should say we had always done Cat 1 on other trips. I would say time is more important than seating category.
