We don't have our trip booked but more then likely will be going last week of Jan 2012. We will stay onsite at a value but we will be driving so we will have a car.

I like the idea of having Dining so you don't have to worry about the budget and how much things cost. I am one that will often not order the most expensive thing on the menu because it is too expensive.

But it just seems so expensive and likely we could do it cheaper.

Here is a few facts

DH is very picky, does not like burgers, pizza, pasta (pretty much any italian), sandwichs or any food that is sweet. Example he loves pulled pork/ribs but not the sweet kind. It has to be NC bbq (i think) or texas dry rub ribs. He is mexcian and would be happy eating mexican everyday lol. He will eat some of the things on the above list once in a while (I can do pasta like once a month and he will do stuffed crust pizza, not sure what the difference is...) but we couldnt do any of those items more then once.

We are not big breakfast people. He often just does coffee, I do a granola bar or something a can grab and eat at work. We both do "normal" size luches and a bigish dinner.

DS4 eats B and L at school has snack in afternoon and dinner.

DS and I love dessert, DH not some much. He will do some things (loves cheesecake) but isnt really into sweet things (but will to ice cream).

Hubby likes soda and other drinks, while I can be happy with a water (and DS too).

DS likes the normal kid foods but often times when he is excited wont eat much.

DS used to be horrible at sit down places but has recently gotten better just not sure how he will do with so much eating out.

I love the idea of being able to order whatever I want and not having to worry about how much it costs and I love being able to get dessert (usually I don't order it cause it is too expensive). Also love being able to get whatever I want for a snack. Not sure how many $4 cupcakes I would get if I was paying OP but if it was just a snack credit...

I know I can do OP much cheaper but would it be more enjoyable to be on dining plan?

So torn. I guess I could buy a disney giftcard and give everyone a daily balance and if I know I have $40 a day to spend I might be more willing to shell out $4 for a cupcake????? Just don't know.

Also will have a car so we can eat offsite some but I don't want to "have" to leave (I hate driving so would rather park the car and leave it there).

What to do what to do...

My son and I arent big on breakfast either. While at disney, we'd have a granola bar (which i brought from home) and we wouldnt get hungry till well after 12 noon. we did the regular dining plan (1 table service, 1 quick service, 1 snack). I would recommend this dining plan. Since your hubby is a picky eater, i would carefully choose which restaurants you want to go to. Checkout the menu's on this site & the allears.net site to see which places he'd like best. Narrow down the choices and let him decide from there. Im sure there are plenty of places that will please your picky husband. There are a lot of great quick service locations throughout all the parks too. Again, plan ahead so you know which ones to go to (and which ones to avoid) once you are there.

Its a nice break to sit down in a restaurant and cool off from the heat. There are many great character meals that your son will love too. Tusker House (AK), Crystal Palace (MK) and Ohana (poly) are some great choices.

Have fun! :thumbsup2

Thanks
I was thinking more QS and doing a few TS OP so we are not tied to ressies...and then DH could eat whenever he wants...he tends to get hungry and fast and he gets really crabby when he is hungry lol...also once we are back at hotel he could grab something from food court (although not sure he will love everything on the menu).

I did check allears so I have found a few places we will plan on eating at.

Having too many TS really scares me as DS can get out of hand sometimes and meltdown. With QS so much easier to pack up and leave if we have to or grab stuff and go back to the room...or more options of to go places offsite...

loke I said so torn lol

I would wait and see what the 2012 dining plan looks like and/or costs before deciding.
