Help me decide: All Star Music or Carribean Beach Resort? $500 difference

Stayed at All-Star Music in September and no frozen coke. Coke products, hot chocolate, coffee available at food court drink area. Really enjoyed ASM with DW and DD(3). look at earlier critique of comparison. Only other addition to add - dual vanities in CBR and only one sink in ASM. Transportation was no problem any day we went and enjoyed the food at food court for breakfast. Having Chocolate covered Rice Crispy Treats as a snack option (dining plan) from food court was great. Either way you go, enjoy your trip. IMHO - if you are not spending much time in resort and one sink doesn't bother you - save the money and go with the ASM.

it all depends on what your likes & dislikes are. we stayed last trip at all star music. i have NOTHING bad to report. my son loved the pool & the food court. however, this trip we are going to CBR because of the bus pick up. with all the walking in the parks during the day & going back & forth to the resort for a kid nap/swim break just took its toll. the busses to the mods seem to park closer (but ony slightly) at the parks & are less crowded. they also only go to the 1 resort rather than all of the all stars on 1 bus. the mods are also a bit more quiet. but those are the only reasons we now do a mod. i am really rather cheap & would like to save the extra cash! :)

MY son has allergies so we tell them that when requesting a non-smoking room. In all our stays we have only had to switch rooms once because of smelling smoke in the room and that was at the Beach Club.

My husband and I have stayed at both and we agreed that we would pay extra for the CBR this time. We found the All star music quite loud and very busy, especially the food court. I like the quiet retreat of the CBR. We don't spend much time at the resort, but the time we do spend, I like to be a bit more relaxing.

We moved up to a moderate, the code wasnt available for me at All Star movies, so for $50 total more we went with POFQ. The water slide, coffe pots in rooms and fridges made DH very Happy  . As he is a early riser who would moan about having to walk to the food court. (I was already prepared for the complaint on our first day at movies.) I figure up for a little more is always good. Plus we are early to bed, early to rise people (9pm and 6am up) so I was concerned with noise that might be at movies since it is more kid themed. Just my opinion, might not have been a problem.

If you're not going to be in the rooms much, I'd say save the $$$ and stay at a value resort. My husband and I stayed at All-Star Music last year, and we thought it was great. It's definitely kid-friendly, with the food court and themed pools. The rooms aren't very big, but they're nice and Disney-themed, and the beds are very comfy!

There isnt much difference by square feet between a value and a moderate, that is why we have never stayed at a moderate. Well that and I am cheap. I cant see spending extra money for a room that we literally only sleep in. We spend all our time in the park or at the pool.
I would definately go for the value and spend you money elsewhere.

I think there is a huge difference even in square feet from 260 to 340. Unless I'm doing my math wrong that's about a 30% increase. There's also a HUGE difference in amenities. I've stayed at values before and we much prefer the mods. And even with older kids, you still may go back to the resort - if not to "nap" than to chill out for awhile.

We actually had Pop for a couple days in December and just changed it - I don't think I changed my sig yet. I just couldn't handle even a couple of days at Pop. For us, our vacation wouldn't even start until we checked into the BCV.

We just got back from 3 nights at CBR. We had a car and you will need it if you stay there. We could have stayed at the all stars for $200 less but we had the dining plan so in all it worked. We loved CBR. and we used the pool, hot tub slide sit down restraunt. We hope to go back next year!

Request a guaranteed non-smoking room due to severe allergies, I have to do it all the time.

I also vote for ASMU. I don't think it can be compared to POP as some are doing. ASMU doesn't attract the large number of families with young kids. If you are looking for quiet, request a room away from the food court. It's only a couple minutes walk either way.

We thought the bus service was great (end of August/Sept) Sometimes we shared a bus with another All Star, sometimes the bus was just for Music. I like that there is only one stop at each resort, it makes the trip much shorter.

We stayed at CBR once. What I don't like is how spead out it is. It took us forever to get to the food court area.

The ASMU has a great food court, lots of selections. I was a deluxe snob at one time. Now that we take shorter trips, I don't care about having all the extra amenities (bikes, boats, etc.) because we don't have time to use them.
