Help me decide about MNSSHP

We are going in WDW 10/30 - 11/5. We have never been to the Halloween party so I think I want to go on 11/1. It would be me, my husband and our 2 boys age 13. The only thing that is keeping me from saying yes is the price for 4 adult tickets.

Would it be worth it for us? We will see the parade, the fireworks, get some candy and go on the rides. They aren't interested in the characters or dressing up. I asked my sons and they both said they want to go. I'm not sure if I would ever be coming back to WDW during this time again, so this might be my only chance to go. Would I just be wasting my money?

If your kids want to go and you're not sure if you'll have another opportunity, then go for it.

If it makes your sons happy, then it's not a waste of money.

I too am going to be there at the same time! The ticket prices is what is holding me back also. However, this may be the only time that I would be down there at that time. A friend of mine suggested just trick or treating at Downtown Disney.

If they aren't really that into the characters it may not be worth it-That has been a huge draw for us, and I am a Halloween junkie.

We're going the same exact dates and also plan to attend the 11/1 party. I was on the fence because of the cost but figure we'll give it a try since I don't know when we'll get there again for Halloween.

2theMouseHouse, MK is open to everyone until 7pm then only to party ticket holders until midnight.

Mom and I attended last years party.
It was GREAT!!!! We saw some rare characters and the rides were mostly walk on. Haunted Mansion had the longest line- about 30-40 minutes. The price is high but in my opinion it was totally worth it.
We are actually heading back 9/8-9/19, and MNSSHP is our our to do list
Happy Planning and Good luck with your decision.

You only live once. I say go for it! MNSSHP was the best night of our trip last year. We aren't that into the characters either. The parade and the fireworks were almost worth the cost of admission alone! Amazing!

We didn't have costumes or do the trick-or-treating, but we loved the 'mood' of the park. I remember somehow they had the sound of horses trotting past you making it seem like invisible carriages were passing by. I felt like I was in the movie Sleepy Hallow; not scarey at all but so cool!

They have trick or treating every night of MNSSHP. I highly recommend it. My entire family's favorite event.

I'm a big advocate of attending twice, but agree with what this poster said. The wait to see characters is what takes up so much time for us. One night should be plenty if you just want to see the parade, fireworks maybe the stage show and do a little trick or treating.

Just don't use valuable party time for doing tons of rides (well, except for Haunted Mansion of course!!) You can do those during regular park hours.

Have a great time!

If you want to count it as your "MK day", then do it. Everything except Haunted Mansion was "walk on" for us last year. We saw Philharmagic with FOUR OTHER PEOPLE in the theatre. We had one other couple in our log at Splash Mountain. We were two adults. If you're not going to be back at WDW at that time again, do it.

All we did was watch the fireworks, ride the rides and get candy. We didn't see any characters. Though we did ride the carousel with Chip and Dale at the end of the night.

Just DO NOT miss the parade! It's the best Disney does! The villains, the dancing Haunted Mansion Ghosts, the dancing grave diggers........ and don't get me started on that song!

It's awesome!

We've gone to MNSSHP 4 times and we love that time of year. This year we;re trying Thanksgiving to see the decorations and to go when we don't have to pull the kids out of school - but we'll probably try to get back to Oct in the future. There are a few things about this party that are really cool :cool1:. First you can walk onto just about everything - we've ridden everything we wanted on these nights. BTM, SM, Pooh ride everything.
Second - we love and I mean love the parade (and we're not crazy parade people) but the dragging of the shovels, the dancing zombies. So cool - so edgey for Disney.
Third - The weather is great at night this time of year - maybe a bit cool at most.
Fourth - Even if you've "aged out" of dressing up its a place you can go where everyone can dress up and feel at home.

If this is the only time you're going to come down this time of year please go to this party. I love it so much I'm trying MVMCP and hoping for a similar experience.:santa:

Too funny. We are also going on the same dates you are! Maybe we should start a meet up group! ;)

We had the same reservations last year.. because we waited last minute, they cost us more.

Was it worth it? Yep! We didn't even stay pass 9:30. We got to watch the fireworks from the monorail, and it was still great.

For us, it is not about the candy. Lines can be so very long that its eye poking. We got to ride a few rides (hope we can do it again this year!) we saw a few characters. The only problem we ran into where the crowds were, and that was bad for business for us.

We are planning on doing it again but not sure of our dates. I'd love halloween, but I am sure its going to be even more crazy than last year!

If you buy a ticket to the party and skip the theme park during the day, it will probably work out cheaper and since they don't care about characters and dressing up.. you can enter the park @ 4pm and easily do all of the rides/attractions before close and still enjoy what the party has to offer
