I have a new product that is a new type of non-lethal personal defense weapon. Can't give details of it right now, will be filing the patent application in a few months. But I already have a great idea for a commercial / promotional video, that will help sell the idea to a company. I will be shooting the video fairly soon, and will sell the entire idea to another company, not just using the product itself to sell it, but with this video as well. (We are finishing the prototypes up now to use in the video.)

The idea for the video is this "You don't have to be a superhero to have superhero powers" (Shots of pretty girl going into dark scary alley, attacker comes at her, she throws down a smoke bomb ala, Batman, smoke comes up and poof she turns into the superhero, whips out the device and shoots the attacker, who cowardly flees in a screaming panic.) She then turns back into the regular person.

On screen she will turn into this generic "Superhero" then back again, because the point is "you don't have to be a superhero with the new ______" (product) [Can't give away the name of the product right now sorry]

Then it describes the new characteristics of the non-lethal personal protection device. And concludes with "your cell phone coverage may go out, but you'll never be without your superhero powers as long as you have your ______ (the product name).

I was thinking about using kind of a catwoman type outfit and modify it, then I was going to do something that ended up being almost the exact same outfit the female superhero used in the Watchmen, so that's kind of out. I have several ideas for the costume, but thought it would be a cool thread on here to hear some of your ideas as to what you think a cool female superhero costume should consist of. I'm thinking it should be sexy, but not too sexy if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance for you ideas.

You don't need to create a superhero persona necessarily. You could simply have her turn into a caped/masked generic "hero". If you'd like, put the "weapon's" initials on her chest like Superman has. And I would stay away from "sexy" (at least trashy sexy...). It will lessen the cred of your product. Stick with classic superhero garb.

The problem with that is, I can't think of a single female superhero character that isn't sexy? :lmao: But I hear ya, that is my problem, I can't find anything, or think of a costume that isn't somehow sexy?

Thanks for your help and suggestions. So you are saying that the superhero girls you posted in your last post, those aren't too sexy? So tight vinyl is OK as long as it doesn't expose anything? I am just having trouble figuring out where that line is, and to me the tight vinyl is pretty sexy, but that is pretty much all there is. So I guess the rule is tight latex/vinyl OK, just don't expose skin, I guess? Is that your thinking as well? Thanks

The reason female superheroes are all "sexy" is because they are drawn for BOYS/MEN. :lmao: Even the frumpiest outfit is still "sexy" because of the huge rack on the girl and the six pack and the hourglass figure.

So for your commercial, I would say stay away from cleavage. Stay away from "skintight" and vinyl.

Use bright colors (does your product have a color theme?), and go with the standard superhero outfit...Unitard, contrasting "lollipop" undies, tall boots, utility belt, cape, mask. Essentially, dress a girl in Superman's outfit (with a mask).

Yes, that is what I was thinking, just no cleavage, no thigh high latex type stockings like the female superhero in Watchmen either I"m assuming? Right? Thanks

Just to toss out another idea:

How about a Lara Croft or Sara Conner or Ellen Ripley character rather than a superhero? That might seem more "realistic" than cartoonish to your target audience.

I say make her just a slightly more "superhero" version of a regular person. Just enough so that everyone knows she has this new product, but not so much that she is unrecognizable. In my personal opinion, if she turned into some amazonian version of Wonder Woman, it would turn me off of the product.

That's interesting but how would you go about doing a Sara Conner type character? That character doesn't really dress in a way to let you know that they are the way they are. I just don't know how that could be done, without it looking like a regular girl.

Black, Special Ops gear like this. Lose the assault rifle, add you products.
