I need to convince my DW to book a stay at vero beach. We are planning a two week trip next June/July, and I would like to stay the 1st week at BCV and the second week (over July 4th) at Vero. Other than the beach, what activities are there to do. (we have a DD 6 and DS 3) She is affraid she will be board, so she wants to stay 1 week at BCV and 1 week at BWV.

FWIW and not what you want to hear, I think your wife is right. I'm not much of a pool & beach person, so 3 nights at VB is about the most I can tolerate. It is a lovely resort, but "activity-wise", it isn't even in the same book as WDW.

How about a compromise? 10 nghts at BCV and the last 3 or 4 at VB?

Best wishes -

We were going to only be in villa's from Sun-Thur (for the lower points) and stay either on-site with an AP rate or maybe at Universal on the weekends. So I was going to do 5 nights at Vero.

It has to have some of the cheapest golf courses in Florida.

Sorry nutsforgolf, I would have to agree with Carol. :sunny:

DH and I stayed at Vero last year for 2 nights/3 days (with no children), and we were ready to go after 3 days. We love to have things to do, so 3 days of pool and beach were enough for us. Maybe if we had gone at the end of our vacation, we would have enjoyed the relaxation of it all a little more. But, we love the parks, and would rather take a pool day there to relax, with more options for dining and night activities.

Of course, we really didn't "explore" the area, so there may be more that we just don't know about. :confused3 But, I would have to say I would want to stay at Disney for the majority, and just do a few days at Vero. :earsboy:

Another one who isnt a big Vero fan here - we booked for 6 days after 2 weeks at WDW and after 3 we were bored.

We ended up driving miles and spending loads of money to find things to do so personally I think you'd be better off putting that money into spending more time at WDW

Im a big VB
We stayed there 5 nights when we left WDW and cried when we had to leave VB
If you are a park commando and want to go all the time VB is not for you.
Our boys were older, but they have a ton of activites for kids.
Its nice just ot sit and let the kids run around on the lawn.
I love listening to the ocean.
We also take short drives along the beach and try to hit the outlet mall .
I miss VB.

Sorry, I also need to agree.. Personally, I did not like it at all. Now don't get me wrong, the hotel is a gorgeous property, however, we were bored witless.

The beach was very shelly and hard on the body. The activities were not the greatest. My son still reminds me of the "tea" party he went to that served water :). Ohh...the memories!!

Anyway, 2 nights was more than sufficaint. It is very secluded and you need to drive quite far to get to anything (restraunts, shops etc).
