I've been stressing with this for weeks, and I know there are 1000s more important things to be stressed about!!!!! We leave in 4 days so I need to decide TODAY!!!
I have a 2yr old and a 5 yr old. We usually don't use strollers for either boy, but I know we'll need a stroller walking around Disney all day. I had planned on bringing two umbrella strollers, but if the 5yr old doesn't feel like riding, I'm left pushing an empty stroller around the parks. I could rent a double one at Disney, but since we'll be there 6 days that's a nice $100 for a non-reclining hard stroller.
Anyone have recent experience with ABBF that I could use to convience my DH the cost is worth it, rather than using our two free umbrellas. I called ABBF and they do have a jogging double available.............thanks!

Sorry can't help I would bring the 1 umbrella and be done with it. We did not take a stroller for our 5 yr old and he did fine for an entire week. especially if he isn't used to one to begin with. Why not wait and see and if he really needs one just rent one that day. You are travelling with 2 little ones he will keep up fine. My guy had no problem keeping up with 2 teenagers and 3 adults. We never even thought about it or offered him one.

Go to Walmart and get a Kohlcraft (sp?) double umbrella stroller. They run around $70. It is heavier than a single stroller, but still very light and easy to manage - you'd still only be pushing one stroller, instead of two. Then your bigger child can ride, or not. There is lots of room in the back to leave non-essential items too while you're on the Disney rides/attractions. I have two kids only 15 months apart and they (and I) loved having this on their first trip to WDW.

ps - I am a "cartersmom" too!

I've considered buying a cheap but decent stroller down in Florida. Maybe it's a thought...seems cheaper than renting although I don't know the prices. You could even just leave it behind. There are lots of strollers under $50 that would work real nicely at least that I have seen.

If your DC don't want to use the rented stroller won't you then be stuck pushing that one around too?

I suppose you could also try renting from abbf once you get there...I know they say they have a 4 day lead time, but maybe once you get there that won't be the case...who knows.

Good luck!

I don't know if it would work but try to use a bungee cord and attach the collapsed 2nd stroller to the back of the one you are pushing the 2 yr old in. You might be able to get the wheels thru the back and attach it at the top. I don't know if it would tip or not so please try it with out the baby in it first. :rolleyes1

Last year we took a slightly bigger than an unbrella stroller that had a basket for the baby and an umbrella for the other DD. When she was not using it, we collapsed it and put it wheels first into the basket and bungeed them together, handle to handle. Sounds complicated but it was really easy. We didn't take the umbrella stroller every day, mostly at night or Epcot.

I also made a nylon strap for my umbrella stroller, kind of like a bottle strap that hooks over the wheels and around the handle with velcro so I can sling it over my back. (heavy sometimes but very convenient for the transportation issues, monorail and bus rides)

good luck!
