I have one of those tile top tables and DD3 "traced" in between the tiles with blue ink!!!! I used bleach and kablam but it's not coming out!! I let it sit awhile and now the blue is just not as dark! Any ideas? It's not one of two tiles either, it's a quarter of the table. Funny thing, I was telling DH I wanted on of those tables that fit into a corner.

try soaking with hairspray then washing offf with hot soapy water

if that doesn't work, try oxyclean

wd40 gotten ink off my leather recliners

hmmm ink is a bear!

First I'd try one of those "magic erasers" from Mr. Clean.

Then I'd try Oxyclean (I have no idea if that's supposed to take out ink - but I always try it... laugh)

If worst comes to worst could you do a thin "regrouting" of the tiles? Just thin enough to cover? I think it's pretty easy... (at least it looks like it on HGTV :lmao: )

Good luck ... when my (now 21 years old) son was 3 he made "doors" in the bathroom of our rental house in Sharpie pen... he saw someone do it on a cartoon ... and when the first one didn't work... he tried another one. :sad2: I ended up rewallpapering the bathroom - and it looked MUCH better.... laugh... My mom had leftover VERY HIGH quality wallpaper that was much nicer than what was in there!

Tried the eraser, nothing!! If the harspray and oxyclean don't work, I guess DH will have another "project". I'll have to threaten to go out and buy a new table to get him do it within a month's time!!

If all else fails get a tablecloth.

Laugh - threatening a "new purchase" usually helps encourage my DH too..

Try a bleach pen. And isn't there some kind of tile paint that can be painted over grout?

You can always finish the rest of the table to make it look even.

Usually the grout lines on those tile tables is a silicone grout. If you get an exacto knife and take the inked part out, just reappy with a white silicone caulking that you can get at the Home Depot.
Good as new!! :cool1:

Your problem is that grout is porous and it has stained down into the grout. No amount of surface cleaning or Magic Eraser is going to work. You might keep trying the Clorox and just letting is sit. I know you did it once. Try it again.

The other thing to do, as someone mentioned, is to removed the grout and put it back in (just like in a bathroom). If you have one of those little "Dremel" tools, they do a good/quick job at removing grout.

If all of the above does not work, you may want to try sanding that area of grout with an emery board/nail file. Just bend the nail file so that it wll fit the area and rub it lightly until the ink is gone. Since grout is a porous surface, it may have seeped in, but probably not all that deep. So a light sanding may help, and is less drastic than removing the grout.
