Planning a Christmas trip for this year Dec 21-26 and can't decide between Wilderness Lodge and the Contemporary Resort. Want WL due to Christmas feel but contemplating CR for monorail since we mostly visit MK. Any thoughts, we've never stayed at either before...

WL it's stunning at Christmas and much cheaper. You have the boat there so won't have to rely on the bus for MK so that helps

Transportation from the parks at this time will be crazy so CR may be the better choice. If you can get a CR-GW - Standard View room it isn't a lot more than the WL rooms and you'd be able to walk back from MK.

We haven't stayed at the CR, but we love the WL (especially during the holidays) . CR is nice for being able to walk to MK, but we love taking the boat from the WL and don't mind if it's a little crowded or takes a little extra time as it's a nice relaxing ride. I would go with the WL as the resort is beautiful anytime of year, but more so during the holidays. Plus the huge fireplace surrounded by rocking chairs in the center of the lobby is a great place to relax and take in the Christmas atmosphere of the lodge .

We stayed at the WL for Xmas in 2011, it was amazing, we had no problems with ferries and just loved the whole Xmas theme and feel of the resort . It is one of our favourites, a must do resort at Xmas.
